Opening monologue: The light of the truth will shine, and open our eyes to lies and stuff.
We open with Pablo and Marizza, arguing just where we left them. Marizza’s let it slip that Paula is not all that she seems, and Pablo’s like, “What do you know about Paula?” Marizza’s like, “Actually, I just remembered we need to drag this drama out for another bajillion episodes, so I’m just going to needle you about your girlfriend having secrets.” Pablo’s like, “Ha! We have no secrets!” and Marizza’s like, “You keep telling yourself that,” and flounces out. Oh. I thought this was going to be more climactic.
At Marcos’s meeting with the Society, they tell him he did an A+ job throwing Lujan under the bus, so he’s officially one of them now. He asks what else he has to do, and they tell him they’ll take care of Lujan. Marcos has enough of a conscience left to try to take responsibility for Lujan, but they tell him to back off. The third year watcher will get her! And who is that? Nope, Marcos hasn’t unlocked that friendship level yet. They tell him that the next time they meet, it’ll be his initiation, so he better get ready. It’s a matter of life or death! *Phantom of the Opera organ*
We cut to Feli and her abusive boyfriend, round 1381. He’s pissed that she’s spending time on the dance group instead of focusing on him, and even more pissed to find out that she wants to stay at Elite Way now on account of the girls being nice to her again. I mean, I rolled my eyes a little because this is like fifth time she’s changed her mind, but I’m not an abusive boyfriend. Anyway, he dumps her on the spot. This is your chance, Feli! Be free! Sadly, she asks him to trust her and reconsider. At least she doesn’t capitulate so he’ll take her back? Baby steps, man.
Mama Luna and Sandra snipe at each other about how Mama Luna is a bad parent, Sandra’s encouraging Luna to be selfish, blah blah blah. They’re like, “Well, let’s see what Luna says! (I bet she’ll choose me.) (She loves me best.)” Luna comes in and says she’s staying. Mama Luna’s like, “How could you do this to Flor!”, and Luna’s like, “Flor supports me!” Sad music, Flor smiling and blinking, etc. Mama Luna’s not pleased at all, and Sandra steps in and says Luna is much more mature than other kids her age, and she can make her own decisions. I mean, Luna is more mature than all her classmates, but that’s not saying much.

Speaking of immaturity, Nico’s practicing hitting a baseball in his bedroom. I thought we all learned that playing ball indoors ends in tragedy when we were like, seven. Manuel comes in and announces that Papa C’s tasked him with helping Luca with the collection, as I predicted. After all, there was nobody else on the entire planet that Papa C could’ve hired to design his clothes besides his flaky brother and a high schooler. Nico’s like, “Sweet, get that paper,” and Manuel’s like, “I don’t care about the money or about this school, I care about my revenge!” Really? For someone who doesn’t care about school, he sure spends a lot of time hanging with his classmates and doing homework. It’s not a bad thing! Focus on your education, Manuel! He starts crazying about how now he’ll be involved with the Colucci business and he’ll know everything about them, but then Marcos comes in and Manuel has to shut up. Marcos is all sad, and he tells them that the Society is going to initiate him soon. “That’s why he has that face,” Nico says. “He’s crazy! Sad! TORTURED!” Hee. Marcos is like, “None of the above, I’m upset because they wouldn’t tell me who the watcher is.” Oh. I thought he was like, going to have a bit of a conscience and not want to sell Lujan out. Man, Marcos is cold.
We then cut not at all conspicuously over to Guido. He and Tomás talk about how Mama B is a Cool Mom and gave Pablo permission to go out and sex up Paula tonight. Meanwhile, he and Tomás are at school, marinating in their celibacy. Guido’s like, “I mean, you could be with Fernanda, but you wanted to break up with her, so.” Tomás points out that Guido’s been hanging around Fernanda as of last episode, and Guido says she doesn’t seem that bad. Oh, Guido. He’s really not ruled by his bigger head, is he? Tomás flips out that Fernanda is plotting something against him. “She’s gonna send me to the hospital like her ex-boyfriend!” Hee. Oh, Tomás. He decides he has to figure out who her ex-boyfriend was, so he can find out what happened and avoid his fate. And Guido’s going to help him! Guido protests, as though he has anything better to do.
In Mia’s room, Feli’s flipping out about Augusto. He hasn’t called her yet! Should she call him? (She keeps pulling out the antenna on her phone to make sure it’s working. HEE!) Mia and Vico immediately shut that down, and tell her to focus on the dance group instead of on her shitty boyfriend. Then a knock comes at the door, and Vico opens it to find a gigantic teddy bear for Mia. It’s from Blas, to cheer her up over Manuel. INAPPROPRIATE!

There’s a bunch of Mario Benedetti poems attached to the bear, and Mia and Feli are all aflutter over how romantic it is. Vico warns Mia away: “This guy is dangerous.” Thank you, Vico! She tells Mia how she and Lujan went to the jail, and how they Altavista’d him and found out Blas isn’t his real name. “I don’t care,” Mia says. I SWEAR TO GOD, SHE SAYS THIS. Dammit, Mia, sometimes it’s hard to love you.

Pablo is at Facundo-slash-Paula’s place, but for once, they’re not rolling around having sex and getting their insecurities all over each other. Pablo wants to know how Marizza knows anything about Paula’s life, and Paula snaps that she doesn’t want to hear him talk about Marizza anymore. She tells him that Marizza’s lying, and she wishes Pablo would leave it all behind. Pablo’s like, “…I mean, I can’t quit school.”

She wears shoes on the bed, I wouldn’t trust her anyway.
Their makeout session is interrupted by some shady-looking guy, who’s looking for the “Godoy”(?) family. Paula and Pablo turn him away, but Pablo is troubled that he’s seen this dude before. The ominous music in the background tells us that he’s right! I don’t know if we’ve seen that guy before. I don’t recognize him, but there are so many random background characters, who knows. Paula’s like, “Let me distract you with my tongue,” and they go back to making out. In a car on the street, shady guy gets on his phone and is like, “What up, Papa B.” Dun dun dun!

The next day, Dunoff calls Mansilla in for a meeting with Etchamendi. Etchamendi’s not pleased that Mansilla signed the anti-Renata memo, and Mansilla’s like, “Well, I’ve never gotten in trouble for enabling the kids before, so whatever.” He says that the kids have a right to protest, and there are a ton of them and only one of Renata, ergo, the fault lies with Renata. What? That seems like flawed logic. Etchamendi points out that students always treat new teachers badly. This is true. I remember two very well-loved teachers at my school were replaced (one moved away, the other died), and the new teachers were both really nice and really good teachers — but holy shit, my classmates tortured them their first years. Eventually they got used to them, but yeah, kids are dicks. Anyway, Etchamendi remarks that he’ll chalk it up to a misunderstanding, if Mansilla is willing to help Renata out instead of taking the kids’ side. Mansilla’s like, “I hear the implicit threat, so…okay.”
Marizza’s being emo over Nacho, and Lujan’s like, “Don’t worry about him! On the street, he’ll be free! He can take care of himself!” Yeah! Why do we bother letting kids live in our houses anyway? Just then, Luna comes in with a note from Nacho (how did she get it? Never explained), saying that he’s doing fine and his brother is taking care of him. Marizza’s like, “Isn’t his brother in jail?” Then they’re like, “Oh, well, he probably escaped.” It happens every day, amirite? Marizza calls Sonia and asks if she knows anything about Nacho’s brother, and Sonia’s like, “Oh yeah, the one who escaped from jail a while ago. Do you think he has anything to do with this?” Marizza’s like, “Nacho ran away with him, duh!”
Nico tells Luna he’s proud of her for disobeying her mom and staying at Elite Way. Shut up, Nico. You made the whole thing about yourself. Pilar comes in and wants to talk to Luna about the Renata memo, but Nico tells her to go away. Heh. Then Tatiana shows up for like the first time in ten episodes, and she’s like, “Just here to borrow my boyfriend!” Pilar picks up that Luna’s not happy, and Luna agrees to tell her: “Because we’re friends. But you can’t tell anybody, okay?” Oh, Luna. OH, LUNA. Pilar’s like, “I don’t know how you stand it. I could never share my boyfriend.” It’s a good thing Joaquin just cheated on her without telling her then, right? Luna looks perturbed, and Pilar is all pleased with herself for stirring shit.

Fernanda brings Guido some food from the vending machine, and he’s all won over by her. Jesus, Guido, hold out for a present that costs more than 75 cents. He’s like, “Wow, you’re really nice, and not at all homicidal like everyone says you are!” Fernanda pouts that her ex-boyfriend spread rumors about her because she broke up with him, and Guido manages to wheedle out of her that her ex’s name is Martin.
Papa B calls Mama B all upset that she let Pablo go out, and tells her that Pablo wasn’t at the movies with Facundo: he was spending the night with some girl! Mama B’s like, “I mean, you wanted him to be having sex, so isn’t this good?” Papa B’s like, “No, I am abusive and must always keep you guessing!” He says he wants to know who Pablo is with, and slams the phone down.
Mia thanks Blas for his (creepy, inappropriate) gift, and tells him that he’s really made her feel better. No, Mia! Avoid him like the plague! Nevertheless, she wants to know who he is. Scare chord! Blas says he can’t tell her, but it’s because of something in his (shady, creepy) past. Mia asks if he’ll tell her one day, and he says one day they’ll talk about everything. ICK! Vico, God love her, comes up and maneuvers herself between them. Blas is like, “Excuse me, I’m hitting on your underage friend here.” Vico flounces off, and Mia sees Manuel come up behind them. She gets all close to Blas and thanks him for his (creepy, illegal) interest in her. Manuel is not pleased.

Guido ingratiates himself further to Fernanda by whining that the math homework is soooo hard, and he needs her help. I think that’s the first time I’ve ever seen a guy use that excuse, at least. Guido supports gender equality! Fernanda runs off to go get her homework, and Tomás rocks up asking what Guido’s found out. Wait, has Tomás always had that haircut?

Guido tells Tomás he has the name, but Tomás is going to have to get Martin’s phone number. He suggests stealing Fernanda’s planner, and Tomás is like, “Are you crazy? She will murder me for real!” Guido’s like, “Well, it’s either steal it or deal with not knowing what she’s up.” Heh. He so clearly doesn’t give a shit.
Sonia’s come up with a plan regarding Nacho; Luca asks if Pepa and Marizza know about it. Sonia asks him not to tell, in case it doesn’t work out how she hopes. They’re like, “Worrying about a runaway kid is so hot,” and start making out. Papa C calls and tries to get Luca to come in and work, and Luca’s like, “Can’t, making out with my girlfriend, bye.” Back at Casa Colucci, Mercedes and Papa C exposit about Mercedes’s sister, Luz, who I expect will be appearing shortly.
Pablo comes back to school, and immediately gets busted by Blas. He’s like, “Woo, you’re the third kid I’ve gotten to yell at today! Everything’s coming up Blas!” He sends Pablo to the office, where Mama B is waiting to ream Pablo out for lying. Except not really, she forgives him as usual. Pablo wants to know how she found out he wasn’t at the movies, and she brushes it off, the way these characters always do when answering a question would resolve a plot more quickly. Pablo tells Mama B about Paula (the name doesn’t ring a bell, for some reason), and Mama B says they should have dinner together so they can meet.
In class, Hilda mixes up Teachers’ Day and Lovers’ Day (presumably not Valentine’s Day). Teachers’ Day in Argentina is September 11, by the way. I dunno at what point in the school year we’re supposed to be at. They had midterms, and winter break is in July, so this might be…August? I’m overthinking this. Anyway, Marizza, Lujan, and Luna assume that this must mean Hilda has love on the brain, and they should keep working on getting her together with Hilario. They draw straws and Lujan gets the short one (heh). She asks Hilda how it’s going with Hilario, which Hilda is not particularly amused by, but when they cut back, she’s spilling everything to them. She tells them she has a son and grandchildren who take up all her free time (the same thing she told Mansilla a while back, and which her janitor denied), and that Hilario is married. The bell rings and everyone leaves, and Tomás grabs Fernanda’s planner.
Mansilla goes through Renata’s file and notes that she doesn’t have any prior experience. Suspicious! Everyone’s gotta start somewhere, Mansilla.
Erreway gathers in the cafeteria, and Pablo tells them that he’s leaving the band. He says he’s going to join another band with Facundo, which Marizza calls out as a lie. He says he’s for real, and says he’ll miss all of them. “Except one.” Passive-aggressive! Manuel finally suggests that if the record label only wants them as a group of four, singing songs they haven’t written, then they should just go to another label. Then Feli rocks up and tells Mia they have to go talk about the dance group. “What dance group?” Marizza wants to know. Mia says it’s their own thing, and they hustle off. Marizza actually looks mildly upset by all these developments.
Tomás has Fernanda’s planner, and is trying to copy Martin’s number from it. “It’s 5-5-1…” “No, it’s 1-5-5,” Guido corrects him. Man, if I ever felt like I was being too harsh on Tomás’s brainpower, this scene would’ve vindicated me. Anyway, because it somehow is taking him forever to copy down 10 numbers, Fernanda comes in, and naturally she needs her planner. They try to make her look away while Tomás puts it back, but she turns around and catches them. (I love that they thought that would work. See my comment above, re: Tomás’s intelligence.) Guido’s like, “Well, this is awkward. See ya!” and ditches Tomás there. Tomás is like, “Oh God, please don’t send me to the hospital.” “I’m not a monster,” Fernanda says. Then she knocks him to the ground and tells him not to mess with her, because he’ll regret it. She crazy, man. And I kind of love her.

All the girls gather for the dance rehearsal, and Vico tries to talk Mia out of hanging out with Blas again. Mia says Blas isn’t bad, he just had a rough childhood. Vico’s like, “So did me and Lujan, and you don’t see us getting arrested.” Aw! I love that she and Lujan are still kinda friends! Anyway, then Sonia shows up and everyone dances and shows off for a while. It’s boring. Let’s move on.
Paula comes to see Pablo at school, and he tells her about going to dinner with his mom. She’s immediately like, “Oooh, no can do.” She BSes that she can’t make it, and Pablo cottons on that something is weird.
Manuel goes over to Casa Colucci, and Papa C’s like, “Welcome to my business! Here’s the computer where I keep all my important information, and it’s all yours to look at!” Manuel’s like, “What’s the password?” and Papa C’s like, “Password? Why would I use a password?” Oh, Papa C. Also, do you think this will finally get Manuel’s butt moving on this whole revenge thing? He starts going through the computer, when Mercedes’s sister shows up. To the surprise of no one, she’s young and hot. Manuel trips all over himself when he sees her. Aaaaand now they have a way to drag out Manuel and Mia getting together over another hundred episodes.

Meanwhile, Mia is crying over Manuel to Sonia. Aw, that’s just cold, Manuel. Sonia tells Mia to fight for her relationship with Manuel, for some reason. He’s trying to stab her dad, Sonia! Sonia gets an idea, and leaves to call Luca. She asks if Manuel is with him, and presumably he says yes, because she gets all happy.
Marizza calls Facundo to the school, and he comes running like a tertiary character who never thought he’d see the light of day ever again. “I came as fast as I could, as soon as you called,” he says. Man, Facundo, you’re like twenty years old. Have some self-respect. She asks him if Pablo’s playing in his band, and Facundo’s like, “Pfft, no.” He looks kind of amused at the idea. Way to diss Pablo! Marizza asks him to reject Pablo if he asks to join Facundo’s band. Facundo’s like, “Whatever you say, Marizza.”
Paula tells Pablo that she’ll meet with Mama B, she just wants a little more time to prepare herself. Pablo forgives her and they presumably have sex. They better hope Guido and Tomás don’t find out about this. Facundo could tell them a few stories about them fucking up other people’s sheets.
Papa B is on the phone with some guy, who tells him that he emailed “the photos” to Papa B. Papa B’s like, “Email? The future is now!” He opens his email to see a photo of Pablo and Paula. Oh snap!
