Previously on Rebelde Way: Manuel is carrying out a wacky plan that is totally innocent in intent, but were someone to walk in at the wrong moment, it would really look like he was doing something wrong. Guess what? Someone walks in at the wrong moment! I know, you didn’t see that coming at all.
Blas is all aflutter to have caught Manuel red-handed with Pilar’s tape. He threatens that they’ll kick Manuel out and then deport him back to Mexico. #MAGA! Luckily for Manuel, Martavio overhears their argument and swoops in to cover for him.
Mia and Vico cackle over their plan to take Sol down, via inviting her to a fake spa, where they’ll have their revenge…somehow. Feli is all emo that her friends are being mean to each other. Oh, Feli, girl. I know it’s hard to admit, but like…it’s so obvious that Sol doesn’t give a single shit about you. I can tell that, and Spanish isn’t even my first language. Mia and Vico storm out, and Feli feels bad enough to try and go along with their scheme — but Sol is pissed at Feli for siding with Mia earlier, and she doesn’t believe her anyway. Sucks to be Feli, as usual. But then Sol changes her mind and decides she believes them anyway, and she drags Pilar along with her at the end of the episode. So whatever.
Lujan emos to Marizza about Marcos being a jerk, and Marizza’s like, “Forget him, you have so many other side plots to focus on! Oooh, there’s Fake Luciano, and figuring out Blas’s real identity, and seriously, who the fuck is your tutor? Oh, plus that whole thing with Pilar’s tape.” She wonders if Manuel managed to return it, and Lujan’s like, “Just ask Mia. She’s his girlfriend, after all.” Marizza gets all salty that Mia didn’t properly appreciate Marizza saving her ass; ergo, she refuses to talk to her. And then, with the flutter of some dramatic background music, Mia arrives. She gives Marizza a hilariously lame thank-you present — it’s literally just a piece of paper with “GRACIAS!” printed on it — and pouts that she thought the paper was pretty, doesn’t Marizza like it? The music is oddly romantic, I should add. Marizza grudgingly accepts; Mia wonders why Marizza helped her, if she hates her so much. Honestly, at this point, if Marizza confessed her love for Mia on the spot, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Anyway, Marizza blusters a bit about pitying Mia’s dumb ass, then they change the topic to their secret charity project. You know, the concert thingy they were doing to get one over on Sabrina? I know, I forgot about it, too. Lujan says she knows a place they could hold it, but they have to talk to Martavio about it. Marizza snaps that she hates Martavio, and Lujan defends him. Man, Lujan’s gonna be so embarrassed when it comes to light that Martavio’s been faking his identity to stalk his illegitimate daughter for this past semester.
Speaking of Martavio, he hustles Manuel back to his room, and tells him to get some sleep for rugby practice tomorrow. Manuel tells Marcos that he’s not going to practice, because he has to emotionally cheat on Mia with Sabrina tomorrow morning. Manuel tells Marcos he has to help him sneak out. Cheaters unite!
Sonia fantasizes about making out with Papa C. She wakes up in a panic, and then realizes that she overslept and missed the mechanic who came by to fix her car. And now she’s stuck at Casa Colucci, again, some more. OMG! Can they get through a whole night without putting their faces really close together?
Seems unlikely.
The next day dawns. Sol asks Feli if Mia’s spa invitation is really a trick, and Feli goes along with it, saying it’s not. Sol chirps that she’s so glad Feli’s telling her the truth, because Feli is her best friend! Aaaand let’s watch Feli’s resolve crumble like a cookie I forgot I had in my backpack and left in there for like three days. And I was so looking forward to eating it, too 🙁
Pablo runs into Lola, and sweetly warns her off of drinking so much. Then he invites her out, as a friend. Aw! Well, slightly less aw, because he only runs into Lola while she’s keeping watch outside the teachers’ lounge, while she sends Bianca in to do the dirty work of stealing the fourth year tests. Naturally, Blas catches Bianca, while Lola ditches her to go watch Pablo’s rugby practice. Bianca really needs better friends.
Mia runs into Marcos and wants to know where Manuel is. Marcos BSes that he doesn’t know. “So go look for him!” Mia barks. “Go! Now!” HEE!
Sonia and Papa C manage to spend the night without jumping each other. Sonia wakes up to a call from Hilda, who wails that Sonia didn’t answer any of her calls, and just where was she last night, anyway? Sonia admits to staying over at Papa C’s house, and Hilda’s all, “I SHIP YOU GUYS SO HARD!” You know who doesn’t ship them, though? Martavio, who’s hovering in the doorway, eavesdropping on the conversation like a total weirdo.
Also, what the hell is up with Hilda’s hat.
Back at Casa Colucci, Papa C and Sonia have a nice chat about how Hilda is the mother figure Sonia’s been missing in her life. She cries about her sad childhood, and explains that she never wants Marizza to feel unloved. Papa C reassures her, and Sonia’s all, “OMG, I can’t believe we’re getting along!” It’s almost like they’re going to fall in love, you guys! Aaand then Papa C makes a remark about Sonia’s lost youth, and she’s like, “Are you calling me OLD?” and…yup, they’re fighting again. Oh, you guys.
Mia asks Blas where Manuel is, which just tips him off that Manuel’s disappeared. Marcos lies that his dad asked him to go visit his mom, and Manuel went in Marcos’s stead for…reasons. Blas is like, “Wow, reasons, that totally sounds legit.” Not really. He calls Marcos’s dad, though, and Papa Aguilar confirms his story. Mia’s like, “Aw, my boyfriend cares about sick people!” I mean…she’s not wrong. One might say that Manuel cares about them too much, if you get my drift.
Speaking of: Manuel is at the hospital with Sabrina. He’s all holding her hands (platonically!), supporting her while she walks (platonically!), and hugging and kissing her (P L A T O N I C A L L Y). You know, between this and how he’s most attracted to Mia when she’s crying or needs help, I feel like Manuel has some serious power and control issues.
Poor dumb Mia decides that she should reward Manuel’s selflessness (read: his lying douchebag ways) by visiting him at the clinic. On her way out, she runs into Lujan, who’s out for…reasons. My two favorite characters interacting! I’m so excited! Mia’s immediately like, “Oh, hey, Lujan, what’s it like being ugly?” Oh, Mia. Then, God love her, she decides to follow that up with asking for a favor: where’s the clinic where Marcos’s mom is staying? Mia tells Lujan that Manuel is visiting Mama Aguilar, because he is so good and noble and definitely not cheating on her.
Lola finds Bianca emoing in the stairwell, but completely ignores her feelings. Lola chirps that Pablo Bustamante, the cutest boy in school, has a thing for her, and she’s over Francisco for real this time. I swear to God, if Lola goes back on this, I’m going to roll over and die. Then Augustina comes up and she and Lola run off together, leaving Bianca to cry alone in the stairwell. I hate this scene, because this exact same thing happened to me at least twice in high school. IT’S TOO REAL, MAN.
Marizza, Laura, and Lujan hang out. Marizza snarks that Mia’s off getting her hair did, and Lujan’s like, “Uh, no, she’s hanging out with Marcos’s mom.” Laura’s like, “Since when does Mia have anything to do with Marcos’s mom,” and Lujan says she’s visiting Manuel. Marizza starts to put everything together — Sabrina and Manuel cuddling by the fire, planning to meet the next morning…and she’s like, “Aw, hell no!” and runs off to stop Mia. She redirects her and makes them go to the rugby practice instead. Wait, what? Let Mia go to the clinic and see what a lying liar Manuel is! But it doesn’t really matter, since the second Marizza gets out of the cab, Mia tells the driver to take her to the clinic.
Marizza interrupts the practice, trying to talk to Marcos. Blas won’t let her, and then Pablo comes hurtling off the field and knocks her over. Romantic! Marizza almost gets distracted, as she’s wont to do whenever she sees an opportunity to fight with Pablo, but she manages to get it together long enough to yell at Marcos. He immediately confesses that Manuel went to the hospital with Sabrina. Jesus, Marcos, hold out a little longer than that, damn!
Feli tells Sol about Mateo’s friend (Leo). Sol doesn’t remember him at all, but is kind of like, “Eh, whatever, one boy is as good as another.” Feli’s upset that Sol’s going to just take Leo out, even though she doesn’t give two shits about him, and also she’s cheating on Tomás, and also, Feli likes him. Sol’s like, “Whatever, other people’s feelings, whatever,” and calls Leo. When he asks if she remembers him, she’s like, “Of course I remember you!” Feli is all hurt.
Seeing as no one noticed when she was crying in the stairwell, Bianca moves over to cry in the lounge. Rocco finally notices her weeping, and she tells him that Lola betrayed her — they were supposed to steal the tests together, or at least Lola was supposed to keep watch for her. But then Pablo came by and Lola ditched Bianca to face the long arm of the law alone, while Lola hopped on some rich politician’s son dick. Yeah, it sounds pretty bad when you say it like that.
Marizza calls Lujan to get the address of the clinic so she can try to intervene, but it’s too late — Mia’s already found her way there, and she finds Marcos’s dad. She asks if Manuel’s there, and Marcos’s dad is like, “LOL no, Marcos told me that Manuel was just using my mentally ill wife as a cover story so he could go hook up with some chick!” Marcos’s dad went along with it, because I…guess he thought that sounded pretty fun? Why are all the men on this show garbage?
Also, is this any of your business, random hipster guy? How did you even get to 2003 from 2012 anyway?
Anyway, Mia realizes that Manuel is out with a girl that isn’t her, and immediately like, loses her will to live. She runs out of the clinic, and we’re treated to a few minutes of Luisana Lopilato’s crying. Why do they keep making her do this? Did someone on the crew really want to embarrass her or something?
Lola and Augustina come by to hit on the boys. Marizza tries to hold Lola back, reminding her that last time she hung out with Pablo, she ended up getting wasted and being really embarrassing. Lola takes that as well as you would expect and storms off. I don’t know why Marizza thought that would work, considering she and Lola are basically the same person.
Then Diego gets a call from the girl he’s been dicking around while hitting on Marizza (Paloma). She calls and says she wants to see him. Who cares about Diego’s love life? Seriously, who?
Papa C visits Sonia and brings her a new tire as a gift. Sonia’s like, “This is the least romantic gift I’ve ever gotten…YET SOMEHOW, IT TOUCHES ME.” What could this mean?!
Marizza and Marcos find Manuel…on some street…somehow. Marizza runs up and says, “We’re here to save you!” Wait, WHAT? Marizza and Marcos tell Manuel that Mia knows Manuel was out with another girl, so they’re here to…help him cover up what he was doing. “You have to lie, because she won’t understand,” Marizza says. MARIZZA!!! How are you taking Manuel’s side? YOU SAW THEM PLATONICALLY CUDDLING!!! Manuel gets mad at Marcos for telling his dad what was going on. Oh, don’t get mad at other people because they’re not helping you cheat efficiently enough. I hate everyone in this scene. So Marizza calls Mia and pretends that the whole thing was a trick on her part — she made Mia think that Manuel was cheating, to punish Mia for not believing her about the tape. Ha ha, so funny! MARIZZA, STOP COVERING FOR THE GARBAGE BOYS.
Marizza sends Mia back to school, saying Manuel will be waiting for her. Manuel asks Marizza to go check on Sabrina for him. “And be tactful with her,” he reminds Marizza. Hee.
Bianca’s mom comes to school to have a parent-teacher conference about Bianca’s behavior. Literally nothing happens with this for the rest of the episode.
Marizza shows up at the hospital, and tells Sabrina that Manuel’s gone back to see Mia. Sabrina fakes a fainting spell, and makes Marizza run off to get her some medication. As soon as Marizza leaves, Sabrina pulls herself up to do…something. Probably something evil, just statistically speaking.
