Previously on Rebelde Way: Martavio is Marizza’s father! Everyone’s like, “Dude, what the hell?” and he backs off all like, “Uh, uh, I mean I’m her METAPHORICAL father, in like, a teacher-mentor kinda way!” and everyone’s like, “Oh, okay, then.” Sonia still wants him to back off, understandably, so he decides he’ll just look for Marizza on his own time. So basically the opposite of what she wants him to do, as usual.
Over in Dunoff’s office, Sol and Mia are trying to air their grievances, and Dunoff’s like, “Ew, please stop trying to make me do my job.” Mia correctly points out that Sol’s bed used to be hers, and maybe Elite Way should properly assign rooms next time, but Dunoff blows off their concerns and kicks them out. Sol’s like, “I don’t think my father, the inventor of the Toaster Strudel, would be very happy to hear about this!” To make Dunoff’s day worse, Gloria delivers “Papa B’s” letter, demanding that Dunoff fire Carmen.
Sonia overhears Martavio continuing to meddle, and she’s like, “What did I JUST tell you?” “I’m just trying to help!” he says. “Go help your grandmother!” Sonia snaps at him. I imagine that’s a sicker burn in Spanish.
Dunoff comes in brandishing the letter from “Papa B”, and starts reaming Carmen out for being SO MEAN to Pablo. She must lift the punishment on him now! I don’t even remember what the punishment was. It’s not like that’s ever stopped anyone from running willy-nilly all over the school anyway. Carmen points out that it’s not good for them to just bend to the parents’ will, and Dunoff snaps, “Don’t come to me with pedagogy lectures!” Yeah! What does pedagogy have to do with education, anyway?! Nevertheless, Carmen goes and apologizes to Pablo between gritted teeth. He and Guido cackle over the success of their plan. Everything’s coming up Pablo! Tomás is the only one who’s not happy, as he’s worried over Marizza. Pablo calls Tomás a f*g. It’s so unmanly to be worried about your disappeared classmates!
Mia hires a hairdresser to come over and fix her hair, whining and crying all the while. Marcos watches her run off in a fit of pique, and he’s like, “Dude, Manuel, what is up with that?” Manuel shrugs that he and Mia have nothing in common, but she’s hot, so whatever. Marcos is like, “Girls, man.” Like, what’s up with Lujan trying to get herself kicked out of school? He and Manuel agree that they have to help bail her out. Manuel runs off and Marcos is all emo over Lujan’s spiral of self-destruction. Fernanda rolls up to comfort him, and cries to him that it’s not his fault Lujan is a mess, it’s her fault. Marcos falls for this and starts stroking her hair and being all, “No, no, you’re such a good person!” In fact, she’s such a good person that she’s willing to alibi Marcos, and say that he was with her all night. Marcos’s dumb ass is like, “OMG, what a great idea! Thank you Fernanda!”
Ana continues to try to help Tomás fix his life, even though she really should have realized by now that her efforts are futile. He tells her that he’s emo over Pablo and Marizza, but he can’t tell Ana what exactly is going on with him. Ana remembers overhearing that Marizza’s disappeared, and she’s like, “Dude, if you know something about Marizza disappearing, you should seriously tell someone.” “I can’t betray Pablo!” Tomás bleats. “What you can’t betray is your conscience,” Ana lectures him. I feel a little sad that she’s still under the impression that any of these kids have a conscience; on the other hand, I’m enjoying how fed up she is with them.
Run, Ana! Be free of this terrible school!
Sol waltzes in and cries all over Tomás that her life is SO HARD, and nothing EVER comes up Sol. Tomás is like, “Your life is so hard,” while Ana rolls her eyes in the background. HA! Oh, Ana, quit this job and go somewhere where you’re appreciated. The pay at Elite Way can’t be that good.
Diego throws Pablo up against the lockers and he’s like, “Where is my friend with benefits?!” and Pablo’s like, “Well, I wouldn’t be so sure she’s yours, considering what went down last night, if you get my drift.” Diego is pissed and storms off.
Papa B comes to the school looking for Martavio. Why? I really don’t remember. Whatever, he’s here, and he runs into Carmen. Instead of being mad at her, though, he’s all pleased that someone around here has disciplined his son. He offers her a position as Pablo’s personal tutor, which she gladly accepts. Ooh, Lujan and Pablo can be tutor buddies!
The boys — plus Fernanda — go to Dunoff to protest Lujan’s innocence. He calls Blas in to compare stories, and Blas is like, “I never said Lujan was in the boys’ room.” Everyone is confused, including me. What is happening? Dunoff’s like, “So Lujan wasn’t in the boys’ room,” and Blas is like, “Right,” and the kids are like, “So you’re not mad,” and Blas is like, “Right,” and they all leave and nobody’s in trouble. What? Oh, and Blas puts his hand on Fernanda’s back as she leaves the room. STEP AWAY FROM THE UNDERAGE GIRLS, BLAS!
“I’m so alone,” Dunoff groans as they all leave. Hee!
Lujan is still being emo in her room, and Blas comes to drag her back to class. She still wants to leave — Jesus, don’t drop out of high school over a boy, Lujan! — and Blas tells her that she has to get her tutor’s permission and it’ll be a pain in the ass, so why doesn’t she just go back to class. Of course, all that does is give Lujan the idea to ask her tutor to pull her out of school. Oh my God, it’s just a breakup, Lujan!
Sol goes back to her room and is pissed to find Mia on her bed, getting her hair done. She and Mia get into another huge fight, Feli is spineless and doesn’t defend either of them, and Sol calls her dad crying about how mean everyone at school is. Mia starts shrieking that nobody is loyal and she wants Manuel to come stroke her ego, so Feli goes scurrying off to find him. She runs into Sol in the hallway, but Sol tells her they’re not friends anymore.
Manuel is busy comforting Lujan, and he’s giving her some pretty good advice, re: dating other boys and not leaving high school because your first boyfriend dumped you. Lujan wails that nobody else will love her, blah blah we’ve heard this a million times before blah. Feli finds them and tells Manuel that Mia’s having a mental breakdown, but Manuel blows her off.
Meanwhile, I guess Marizza’s been stomping on the floor for the entirety of this episode, and she finally gets a response from the apartment underneath. We don’t see anyone rescue her or her escape; she just shows up back at school after a while. Why not.
Ana tells Sonia that she thinks Pablo is involved with Marizza’s disappearance. Sonia’s like, “I’ll kill him!” and I gotta say, for once her reaction is justified.
Ah, yes, we get to the reason Martavio called Papa B here: to talk about Pablo’s dick. I was repressing this entire plotline, I guess. Papa B, as always, is way too eager to discuss Pablo’s sex life with a total rando, and is like, “My son’s penis is in EXCELLENT condition, and he is ALWAYS ready to perform, because he is a MAN who DOES MANLY THINGS,” and it is super weird. Papa B says Marizza must have made up the rumor about Pablo, because she’s so ~rebelde. I really can’t keep track if they genuinely think Marizza was the one who started the rumor or not. It was Guido, but I can’t remember if Marizza took credit for it at one point. Oh, well, I don’t really care. Let’s move on.
Lujan slinks back in to class, and Fernanda mocks her. For some reason, Pilar’s offended by this and defends Lujan. It’s sweet and all, but…why? Whatever. Unless Pilar’s playing some weird long game again. Who knows? That’s not all the drama that goes down in class — Sonia comes storming in and grabs Pablo by the hair, shrieking, “WHERE IS MARIZZA?” Marizza’s like, “Right here!”, popping up in the doorway, having escaped from the apartment in a scene they didn’t bother to show us. Then Papa B joins the party, wanting to know what the hell is going on with Marizza, and also with Pablo sending that forged letter to Dunoff. Man, things are not coming up Pablo right now.
Dunoff gets his TV fixed so he can spy on everyone again. I would care if I had ever known it was broken. Gloria comes in and tells him that Sol’s father is here, and Dunoff’s like, “Aw, hell no,” and runs away to hide from him. HEE! Never change, Dunoff. He manages to skulk around the campus for a while (hiding in the bushes!), but eventually Sol’s dad catches up with him — and he’s happy with Dunoff! He’s like, “Yeah, my daughter seriously needs some boundaries enforced.” Dunoff’s like, “Oh, right…yeah, I meant to do that.” As you’ll recall, Sol’s dad is besties with Etchamendi, and talks Dunoff up to him. Dunoff is all happy.
After class, Fernanda strokes Marcos’s ego-slash-boner some more in the cafeteria. She cries all over him that Lujan doesn’t like her, and she needs him to comfort her and hold her in his big strong teenage boy arms or some shit. In the background, Ana thinks this is BS. Ana is the MVP of this episode.
Marizza tells Sonia about her traumatic night of being kidnapped. “Did he do something bad to you?” Sonia asks, fearing the worst. “Yes,” Marizza wibbles. Sonia’s like, “Oh, I am going to kill him EVEN MORE!” and Marizza’s like, “No, not that, chill out.” Well, damn, Marizza, you knew where she was going with that! Marizza gets all defensive that she doesn’t want any adults getting involved; she’ll handle Pablo herself. Sonia cottons on that Marizza doesn’t want Pablo to be punished, and she’s like, “Jesus, you still have got it bad for that boy.” Then: “You really got your taste in men from me.” HA!
Marizza’s New Erreway meets to discuss their charity concert. Diego’s all salty about Marizza “spending the night” with Pablo, even though they just had this talk about their relationship not meaning anything. Get over it, Diego.
Martavio rocks up to Sonia and proceeds to have a bizarrely personal conversation with her. He’s all like, “Yeah, Spirito isn’t Marizza’s dad, is he?” like that’s just a normal thing you ask someone you barely know. Sonia grudgingly confirms that Marizza’s paternity is uncertain, and Martavio says — possibly lying — that he #relates to Marizza because he also didn’t know who his dad was, and that’s why he’s so obsessed with her. Their moment is interrupted by a phone call from Papa C, but Sonia yells at him and hangs up. Gosh, I hope he wasn’t calling about anything important.
Pablo is not pleased at all to be introduced to his new governess, Carmen. It’s not really specified in what capacity she’s supposed to be tutoring him, it kind of just sounds like she’s supposed to stalk him through school, make sure he’s not behaving too badly, and give him extra homework. Fair enough. I’m surprised Papa B didn’t resort to this sooner. Oh, and Pablo can’t leave school anymore for the foreseeable future. Well, that really puts a wrench in their whole concert thing.
Francisco takes Laura into the classroom to unveil the Erreway poster he’s designed. Laura’s all twitterpated by how good it is, but little do they know Dunoff is watching them. He overhears everything about the concert, and cackles at the thought of shutting it down.
Tomás comforts Sol some more, and they make out. Again. Tomás, you have been here before, and it did not end well! Poor dumb Tomás.
He walks her back to her room, and they find a card from Feli, trying to make up with Sol. Apparently, she’s managed to get Sol an interview with that model agent guy, Paolo. How did Feli swing that? Whatever. Sol wants to be friends again, and Feli seems slightly confused when Sol brings it up to her, but that could just be her usual expression.
Vico spies on Rocco singing in the courtyard and is all twitterpated. She liiiiikes him.
Mia is all upset that Manuel chose to stay with Lujan instead of running to her side. We’re treated to some more of Luisana’s yelling dialogue, but thankfully their fight is cut off by Lola, who tells them that Marizza wants to meet them in the cafeteria. Marizza finally tells Manuel and Mia what she’s up to, re: the benefit concert, although she neglects to mention she’s forming a new Erreway for it. “Who’s the benefit for?” Manuel derps. Mia’s like, “Poor people, duh.” She’s not wrong, but Marizza gets all snippy that the only poor thing here is Mia’s brain. Anyway, Manuel’s all enamored by the idea of helping the poor, and decides he wants to participate in Marizza’s concert, instead of Erreway’s. Mia leans toward agreeing with him, but Pablo doesn’t want to help Marizza, as he’s still pissed she stole his songs. I mean, he’s not wrong there.
Manuel’s like, “We have to do the benefit concert, for great justice!”, but then they stress out over canceling the other concert and losing the money. Why! Don’t! They just do the benefit concert another day! It’s being organized by Marizza; they can just move it around and do both concerts! THERE IS NO REASON THEY HAVE TO CHOOSE.
Of course, the whole thing is moot anyway, because Dunoff’s caught wind of the benefit concert and has decided to schedule a mandatory workshop on that day. Anyone who doesn’t show up will be expelled! WHAT DO.
