Opening monologue: We have to celebrate our wins, because the good times keep us going when growing up is hard. Is getting set on fire considered a “win”?
Nico, Marizza, Luna, and Tomás all fret over where Manuel, Guido, and Pablo might be. They decide to go look for them, and of course run right into Dunoff who’s like, “Why do you insist on ruining my day by asking me to do my job? Grounded, all of you!” He says they’re to stay in the classroom for the next period and work on their homework (what, they don’t need to go to their other class?), and for extra fun, Blas will be checking in on them every five minutes! I kind of love that Dunoff knows Blas has nothing better to do.

Meanwhile, Manuel, Guido, and Pablo are all dying of smoke inhalation. Nice going, Dunoff. “Cafe!” Pablo wails, trying to wake Guido up. Their love is so real 🙁
Lujan’s taken Marcos’s mom to some cafe, and Marcos’s mom is like, “I can’t believe you made me think my last living kid is dead, what the fuck.” Yeah, it does sound bad when you put it that way. Lujan speechifies about how Marcos’s fuckup older brother might be dead, but Marcos is alive, and it would really mean a lot to him if his mom stopped hating him for five seconds. Amazingly, this works (I can’t believe Lujan of all people gave a successful emotional speech), and they go to the hospital. The doctor tells them that Marcos is improving, and Marcos’s mom says she wants to see him. Lujan’s all pleased with herself for meddling. Aw, Lujan, no. Who are you, Marizza?
Pilar walks into the classroom where everyone is having detention, and Luna tells her that they need her help to get Dunoff on their side. Pilar’s like, “No.” So what does Marizza do? Physically attack her, of course. Oh, Marizza. Meanwhile, the Dunoffs are having a fight over whether or not Dunoff should have lied and told everyone that Marcos was fine instead of, you know, dying. Dunoff’s like, “But Etchamendi told me to!” Mama D’s like, “If Etchamendi told you to jump off a cliff, would you do it?” Dunoff’s like, “Yes.” Their marital discord is interrupted by Marizza, who tells Dunoff that Pilar is looking for the Society. Dunoff and Mama D are all horrified and let Marizza and the rest of the gang drag them down to the basement. They manage to get Manuel, Pablo, and Tomás out (with Dunoff yelling, “Come on, let’s go!” from the banister, because Dunoff? Helping kids? Not even when they’re literally on fire, apparently), and then Marizza spies the chest of Society secrets. She goes back and manages to collect all the papers and carry the chest out. Wow, all that smoke didn’t affect her nearly as badly as the boys. Marizza ought to be studied, but we already knew that.

Papa C confronts Mia about singing in the band (he says “Erreway” like it’s a stupid name, which it kind of is), and she yells that it’s a lie, nobody understands her, Papa C clearly doesn’t ~know~ her if he believes such things, blah blah blah. Mia finds the letter in his office and is all twitterpated that she has a fan. Heh. I love how predictably feeble flattery works on her. Luz comes in and snarks that Mia ought to get used to her, as soon she’ll basically be her aunt (ew). Then she’s like, “Aw, how cute, you have fan mail!” Mia’s immediately tipped off that Luz knows it’s from a “fan”, and jumps her. Heh. Marizza must be rubbing off on her. Sometime in the last five minutes, Papa C’s disappeared, so Mercedes comes in and immediately takes Luz’s side, remarking that when Papa C’s not around, she’s in charge. Mia does not like that at all.

Dunoff calls the fire department and an ambulance, and then yells at them to keep their sirens down. Can’t be having the students know there’s a fire in their school! Evacuation, what’s that? A paramedic looks over Guido, Pablo, and Manuel and he’s like, “Yeah, you guys are fine, whatever. Get some rest or something, I guess.” Tomás comes in and Pablo tells him that they’re getting close to destroying the Society. Not with 40 episodes to go, you aren’t.
There’s a bizarre break for the “Resistiré” video, and then we’re back to the episode. Marcos’s mom looks at him with what could either be disgust or worry; the acting is so bad that it’s hard to tell. Marcos wakes up and is all, “I nearly died, mom!” and she’s like, “Whatever,” all back to hating him again. That was fast. Mansilla sees this and catches up to Marcos’s dad all, “Bro, wtf is wrong with your wife?” Marcos’s dad is like, “Wow, maybe this isn’t any of your business,” and Mansilla’s all, “I’m Mansilla, everything is my business.” Some time later, the doctors tell them that Marcos has suddenly gotten worse. They’re all like, “He’s dying of a broken heart!” and Lujan’s like, “Oops.” Marcos’s dad is like, “I’ve realized that Mansilla and Lujan are way more important than I am, so they can go in to see him.” I bet Marcos will be thrilled to see that both of his parents would rather leave him in the hands of his teacher and a rando classmate.

Luna lets Pilar out of the closet in Marizza’s room (hee!), where they locked her in while they got Dunoff. Pilar yells at Luna for not defending her, and Luna’s like, “It was for the greater good (the greater good)!” Pilar yells that they’re not friends anymore and runs off. Whatever. Like that friendship was doing Luna any favors anyway.
Etchamendi and Dunoff look over the Society files together, and Etchamendi’s all, “No puede ser!” Oh, Etchamendi, you’re so naive. Anyway, he tells Dunoff to make the files disappear so they don’t piss off all the most powerful families in Buenos Aires, and they’ll expel Guido just to prove that they did something. Raise your hand if you saw that coming. Why did they leave the files alone with Dunoff in the first place?
Mia crashes into Manuel on her way back to school, and she snaps at him that Luz tattled on her to Papa C; ergo, the band is in jeopardy and it’s all Manuel’s fault. Manuel’s like, “Luz would never! Our love is pure!” Mia points out that Luz knew it was a fan letter without reading it, and besides, she doesn’t have any fans (“You have a point there,” Manuel snarks). Then Feli comes up and drags them off to the cafeteria to celebrate the Society’s discovery. Everyone fawns over Manuel and Pablo (Guido elected not to show up, for some reason) and they’re all like, “Now the Society will be kicked out for sure!” Rodrigo and some of his sidekicks show up, and everyone hassles them until Dunoff takes them to his office. Manuel tells Dunoff that they have to be expelled, and Dunoff’s like, “Idk.”
Guido tries to call his mom, but she still won’t talk to him. Guido’s all sad, while yet another Avril Lavigne song plays in the background. I can’t judge, I used to cry to this song too when I was twelve.

Luz cries to Papa C that Mia attacked her, and if she’s such a bother, she won’t come around anymore. Papa C rushes to assure her that this is Mercedes’s house now too, and he’s going to have a stern talk with Mia. Mercedes and Luz smile at each other. Manuel calls Luz to the school and asks if she wrote the letter, and Luz gets all huffy that Manuel might believe Mia over her. Manuel admits that he does believe Mia, because he knows when she’s lying and when she’s not. “You’ve really disappointed me,” he says. “I’ve lost faith in you.” You’re not her dad, Manuel. Anyway, he decides he can’t date someone he doesn’t trust, and he dumps Luz on the spot.

We then take a bizarre detour into Sonia’s subplot — bizarre because it has nothing to do with anything at hand, and we only spend like five minutes per episode on it, which is still five minutes too much. Pepa tells Luca that Sonia won’t get out of bed because she’s so distraught over Marizza. Luca has some idea to make it better, but we’re not going to find out what it is in this episode.
Marcos’s mom rants to his dad that Marcos is just trying to get attention, and he…faked…his life threatening injuries somehow? You’d think the doctors would’ve noticed that. He threatens to separate from her and take Marcos with him. Mansilla and Lujan walk in and they’re like, “Awkward.”
Back in the cafeteria, everyone’s like, “So is all of the Society getting expelled or what?” and Dunoff’s like, “Idk, I gave all the proof to the school board so now I have no responsibility whatsoever! Back to your classes!” The Clue Crew is a little wiser than that, and immediately note that Dunoff isn’t going to do anything, so it’s up to them. Pablo thinks they should wait and see what the board does, and Marizza immediately disagrees. Nevertheless, they all side with Pablo and agree to wait. Meanwhile, Etchamendi probably throws all the files into a furnace or something.
Marcos’s dad tells him that his mom is way too far gone, but he still loves him and they can start again and be a family. There’s lots of crying and emotional shit, so of course Mansilla and Lujan waltz right into the middle of it. Marcos tells them that he and his dad are getting along now, and Mansilla’s like, “Of course you are, my meddling always fixes everything.” Then Marizza calls and tells them that they’ve busted the Society, and Lujan and Marcos are all twitterpated. Mansilla’s like, “How did they catch them?” and Lujan chirps that they found proof and gave it to Dunoff. Mansilla’s like, “DUNOFF? Aw, hell no.”

“Dunoff will fix everything, like he always does!”
Luna tries to make up with Pilar again, and Pilar yells at her some more for using her and being just like everyone else, blah blah blah. This is kind of rich coming from Pilar. Luna mildly stands up for herself, and remarks that she’s sorry, but she doesn’t regret it, because it was a matter of life or death. They part with Avril Lavigne playing in the background. Seriously, what’s with their sudden obsession with her?
Manuel, Pablo, and Tomás go to see Guido, and Manuel is all snippy about Guido being in the Society. Both Tomás and Pablo think he deserves another chance, seeing as how he passed out in the vents and nearly got set on fire for them. Guido is all remorseful and wants to explain, but then Gloria waltzes in and says Guido has to go see Dunoff, as they’re going to expel him. In the office, Etchamendi tells Dunoff to have Guido sign a confession that he made everything up, and Dunoff’s like, “This is getting weirdly totalitarian, but sure.” Oh, Dunoff. Outside, Manuel & co run into Gloria, who tells them that Guido’s the only one who’s going to be expelled. Pablo and Manuel go to Marizza and admit that she was right, and they have to do something now.

Marcos’s mom tells his dad that she’ll move out, and he can stay with Marcos. Whatever. She was only in like two episodes to begin with.
Feli tells Mia that Marizza’s hatching a plan with the whole class, and they’re all set to run off, but then Papa C shows up to yell at Mia. He tells her that he believes Mercedes and Luz, because he has a photo of Mia performing with the band. I mean, Mia could claim that’s from ages ago, when she first got busted with the band, but I bet she won’t.

Marizza puts her plan into action while Dunoff’s pressuring Guido into signing the confession. There’s a sound of jingling or whatever from outside the office, and Dunoff’s like, “How dare!”
