Previously on Rebelde Way: Mia finally found out about Sonia and Papa C dating. Or being engaged. Whatever they are now. Hilariously, all it took was Papa C buying Sonia an ugly jacket, and not like…Mia noticing his engagement ring. She’s really falling down in the girl-detective department.
Mia slams down the photos and tells them she has proof that Papa C bought that jacket for Sonia. Sonia immediately BSes that Papa C USED her to figure out where to buy a cute jacket, and he wanted her opinion, but the jacket he bought is TRASH and he was going to give such a hideous object to Mia, and Mia’s all, “He was going to give it to his girlfriend, not me!” and Sonia’s like, “What a jerk! I would never date him!” She and Mia hustle off, while Papa C’s like, “What the hell just happened?” Michi rocks up and she’s like, “NICE show.” Heh. I love her.
Manuel shows up, and Papa C rudely shoos Michi away. Michi is the greatest adult on this show, Papa C, have some respect! Manuel tells Papa C that he’s resigning from working at Papa C’s company. Whatever, like he ever did any actual work there anyway. Seriously, between being in a nationally famous band and going to high shcool, when did he ever have the time to work? Anyway, Papa C is all, “You love business and capitalism; you’re just doing this because of Mia.” Manuel says he has to leave while he still has some dignity left. Manuel, you lost your dignity when you showed up wearing those orange pants in episode 3. Anyway, Papa C tells Manuel that he always has a place in Casa Colucci. I’m sure that won’t scar Mia at all. Seriously, he tried to assault your daughter, Papa C! Quit trying to do him favors!

At Casa Bustamante, Papa B and Ines are arguing over Javier acting a fool in front of the news crews. “Your son is an idiot!” Papa B snaps at her and, like, it’s true, but what a red flag! Leave him, Ines! Papa B insists that Javier is a weirdo, while Pablo eavesdrops and laughs to himself. Okay, Papa B hates you too, Pablo, let’s not get up on your high horse here. Ines snaps that Papa B is just like her ex-husband.
Guido calls and tells Pablo that he’s at a super-weird bar full of super-weird people like Rocco, if Pablo gets his drift. Pablo’s like, “Not really, but whatever. Did you get his camera?” and Guido kind of hems and haws and Pablo’s like, “Dude, just get the camera.” Heh. Pablo tells Guido that Papa B has given him a wonderful, awful idea about how to get rid of Javier.

Pilar tells her mom that she wants to stay at Elite Way, because she finally has a boyfriend and isn’t being brutally mocked by all of her peers anymore. Mama D is sympathetic and says she and Pilar will still see each other on long weekends and vacations. Aw. It’s pretty genuinely touching. I’ll miss you, Mama D, and your occasional voice of reason in this show!
Back at the gay bar, one of the guys comes up and starts talking to Guido, and Guido is all uncomfortable with the idea that he’s being viewed as a sex object and not a human being. Suffer, Guido. Meanwhile, Vico’s actually hitting it off with Rocco and his friend — Rocco seems not at all weirded out that his almost-girlfriend has found him at a gay bar — and tells Guido she’s going to keep hanging out with them. Guido gets the camera and tries to get her to leave with them, but Vico waves him away. Heh.

Marizza thanks Javier for defending Martavio, and it’s super gross. She rants to him about how Dunoff is making her spend time with Sonia, and Javier actually gives a pretty good speech about how Sonia would do anything for Marizza — and hey, at least she knows her mom; Javier’s never met his real dad. Marizza gets irritated, as she always does when people remind her that her home situation could be so much worse. (Seriously, is Lujan ever going to point out that she’s an orphan? I would be playing that card all day every day if I had to listen to Marizza whine about her parents all the time.)
Marizza goes to meet Sonia for their little therapy session. Sonia rambles on about her hair while Marizza gives her the silent treatment. Sonia finally loses it and snaps that they can spend the entire hour in silence. I mean, that sounds like it would have as much plot progression as a regular episode of this show anyway.

Papa B sighs to Pablo that he thinks he’s gonna break up with Ines. She’s, like, having her own thoughts and feelings and arguing with him and it’s so annoying when women do that. Pablo’s like, “Is the problem with Ines, though, or is it…something else? Like maybe her kid?” Papa B’s like, “Yeah, that Javier kid is a dumbass.” Pablo concurs, and tells Papa B that maybe the problem is that Javier is having trouble adjusting to a school as “demanding” as Elite Way. I pause the video briefly to laugh. Elite Way! Demanding! They have like three classes! Anyway, Pablo suggests that Papa B send Javier to a school for kids with developmental problems.

Rocco walks Vico home, and she asks how his suspension is going. He says that it’s not so bad, since his parents aren’t punishing him at all and he can just leave the house whenever he wants. He mentions seeing his friends, and Vico’s like, “And…are all your friends…like that guy we met?” Rocco’s like, “Are you asking about him, or are you asking if I’m gay?” He tells her that he doesn’t want to talk about it, and “they” (not sure if he’s referring to him and his friends, or him and Vico) are beyond those kinds of labels and discussions. Vico’s like, “Ooookay.”

Guido comes back to school, and Blas immediately notices that Vico’s not with him. He threatens punishment or maybe expulsion, I don’t really know because no one ever gets meaningfully punished on this show anyway so who cares.
Marizza and Sonia are still not talking to each other. They flashback to this one time Marizza was little and Sonia hugged her and they’re all tearing up and shit. Then Martavio walks in and ruins it, and Marizza starts wailing at him that hanging out with Sonia is the worst punishment ever. Sonia huffs that Marizza can stay with Martavio if she wants to leave so bad.

Papa C tells Mia that Manuel has quit working for him. Mia’s like, “Good,” and Papa C’s like, “How can you say that, I’m so worried about how he’ll support himself. Life is so hard for 20-year-olds who stay enrolled in high school so they can pressure their 15-year-old girlfriends into sex.” Papa C says that Manuel looked so sad; he feels responsible for this whole mess. Mia rightly says that Manuel is responsible for his own damn self, and Papa C says that he shouldn’t have raised her in a “glass box” away from reality. So he’s saying that he spoiled Mia too much growing up, and that’s why she has unrealistic expectations like wanting her boyfriend to respect her and not stick his dick in other girls. Get fucked, Papa C.

Seriously, though, this show has some fucked-up messaging about love and forgiveness. Papa C is insisting here that Mia has to forgive Manuel, because that’s the “right” way to learn and grow from experiences. That’s a real nice sentiment, but no, you don’t HAVE to forgive people who disrespect you or hurt you — if you can, that’s great, and some people do find it healing to forgive. But some people don’t, and that’s fine, too. I would also add that “forgiveness” doesn’t always mean letting the other person back into your life — which, again, is what everyone wants Mia to do. She can let go of her anger at Manuel, but she doesn’t HAVE to let him start hanging around her and whining at her all the time. Basically, everyone is acting like “forgiveness” means that Manuel deserves Mia’s emotional (if not also physical) attention and Mia’s a jerk for not wanting him around her anymore. It’s super mega fucked up, dudes.
Anyway, Papa C tells Mia not to throw her relationship away because of a mistake, and Mia’s like, “Not coming from you and your skanky girlfriend,” and Papa C yells at her not to disrespect him or his girlfriend. Mia’s like, “Well, if she’s so great, introduce us,” and Papa C’s like, “I will not! For reasons! Unrelated to her being someone you know!” He demands that Mia respect them, again, some more, and Mia snaps that respect has to be earned. Like Sonia! Mia respects her! Mia’s like, “Why can’t you date someone like Sonia? But not actually Sonia, since she’s dating Martavio.” Papa C’s like, “What” to all of that.

Guido rocks up to Sol and demands that she lend him a friend of hers that he can introduce to Tomás. Aw, hell no! You will not break up my OTP of Tomás and Pilar, Guido! Get back, Satan! Anyway, Fernanda’s all like, “I volunteer to go out with Tomás!” but Sol wants to use this opportunity to get him back herself.

Sonia walks in on Mama D being emo. Mama D cries that Pilar wants to stay at Elite Way, and Mama D would stay with her, but she’s already wasted too many years in an unhappy marriage. Sonia thinks that Mama D should stay with Pilar, and speechifies about how she’s in love and thinking about getting married, but it doesn’t mean anything if Marizza is mad at her. “Okay, but I’m not weirdly codependent with Pilar like you are with Marizza,” Mama D doesn’t say. Sonia says that she made the wrong choice, and she LOST MARIZZA FOREVER! And that’s what’ll happen to Mama D if she leaves Pilar!

Look, I don’t know if it’s because I had parents that traveled a lot for work, but I just…can’t care about Sonia’s point of view here. Like, Pilar is 15 years old. She won’t die if she doesn’t live full-time with one of her parents.
Vico and Rocco come back to school, and Blas gets mad at them. He kicks Rocco out and tells Vico that he’s called her dad. Vico’s dad covers for her in front of Blas, but as soon as Blas leaves, he starts yelling at her for sneaking out and raging that she was probably out screwing around like her mom. Rocco walks in and saves her, and he slips Vico’s dad some money to make him go away. Vico realizes that Rocco gave her dad the money he got from Guido, and hugs him in gratitude. It’s sweet but weird. This whole “Rocco is Vico’s savior” thing is weird, or maybe it’s just because I went to Catholic camp as a kid and had to watch wayyyy too many contemporary Christian movies about “bad” women being indebted to good men for being nice to them.

Papa C finds Mama D and asks if she’s seen Sonia. Mama D mentions that Sonia was just in here giving her a big speech about life, and she mentioned that she was super in love with her boyfriend. Papa C’s like, “Oh, her boyfriend, huh? Did she say who that might be? Maybe Martavio?” and Mama D’s like, “IDK, I guess.” Papa C’s all, HELLO DARKNESS, MY OLD FRIEND.
This is stupid. SHE’S DATING YOU, YOU DUMBASS. Then again, how much brainpower can I expect from someone who wants to give Manuel his house?
It’s…somehow the next day, I guess? Javier rocks up to Marizza and brags to her that he disconnected the bell, so it won’t ring for class to start. Marizza gushes that he’s such a cool kid, and it really helped her to talk to him yesterday. She’d love to have a brother like him! Ooh, brother-zoned. Rough life, Javier. Then Papa B and Ines show up, and tell Javier that they have a surprise for him.

Manuel puts up an ad on the school corkboard, offering his services. To…the other high schoolers? What a dumbass. Sol rocks up and Manuel asks her to spread the word that he’s looking for work. Sol agrees, and puts up her own sign: a big pink board that says “DEAR SOL, THANKS FOR LAST NIGHT. XOXO, T.” Apparently this is…supposed to be from Tomás? To make Pilar think that he’s cheating on her? You know how boys like to write messages in bubbly handwriting on pink paper. Why is everyone in this school so dumb? Anyway, Sol then calls Sabrina and tells her that Manuel needs a job so he can stay enrolled in this school that he has literally no reason to be at.

Speaking of Tomás, he’s holding Pilar while she cries about her mom leaving. Aw! I love them! He’s like, “You know I’m too dumb to really grasp the enormity of your life changes, but I support you.” That’s really sweet, coming from Tomás. (Case in point: he derps that Pilar should just ask her mom to stay, and Pilar’s like, “Wow, what a concept, I never even thought of trying that.”) Then Dunoff shows up and calls Pilar away, and Belen enters to talk to Tomás. She leans over to stroke his hair and asks what’s up, and he’s like, “Don’t touch the hair.” Hee. Belen asks him if the message in the hallway is from him.

Papa B and Ines tell Javier that they’re enrolling Javier in a different college. He’s offended that they want to send him to a special needs school — Papa B literally calls it “special”, which is what every kid wants to hear about themselves, I think — and insists that he’s not stupid. Well, maybe you should stop acting a fool for sympathy every five minutes, Javier. Papa B and Ines keep pressing the issue, and Javier absolutely LOSES HIS SHIT and starts yelling that he doesn’t want to go. Sure, I’m now convinced that he’s totally stable and not at all in need of special treatment. Papa B tells Javier that he’s going to the new school if he likes it or not. Tragically, I know this is not true, and Javier is going to stick around to torture me for many more episodes.

Dunoff tries to put Pilar in the middle of his divorce again, and asks her to convince Mama B to stay. He breaks down and admits that he might lose his job, because Papa B thinks it’s bad form to have a divorced principal running the school. Did Papa B and Mama B ever divorce? I guess it’s fine that your wife disappeared under mysterious circumstances, as long as you’re still legally married.
Part of Sol’s master plan involves Guido…somehow…so she sends Fernanda to talk to him. (“Ugh, but he hates me,” Fernanda whines, and Sol snaps, “DO IT” at her.) They end up just ranting about how much they hate Tomás and Pilar together, because their taste in ships is flawed, until Augustina and Lola show up. Guido dives under the pool table and Augustina runs away, but Lola is much tougher than both of them, God love her. She gets up in Guido’s face and snaps at him that they both know he’s hiding from Augustina like a punk ass baby. He needs to give back all the stuff Augustina gifted him, and Guido’s like, “But, but, all the material goods that I was using her for :(“

Augustina’s found her way to Pilar, who’s comforting her and telling her to forget Guido. Then Lola rocks up and starts ranting that Guido is the WORST and do you know what he even SAID, and Pilar’s like, “Lola…I literally am trying to make Augustina forget him.” Lola’s like, “Oh.” She tells Augustina that she told Guido to give back all of his presents, and Augustina wails that if he keeps the gifts, then maybe he’ll have some memories of her, too. Jesus Christ, Augustina. Lola points out that Guido doesn’t even care about her; the only thing he even asked about was if Augustina’s dad found out the truth. This gives Pilar an idea to get Guido back with Augustina. Pilar, weren’t you literally just saying — nevermind. Lola calls them out on trying to win Guido back, of all people, but then Augustina’s like, “Whatever, it’s not like Pablo treats you any better.” She’s not wrong. Lola insists that if she ever found out that Pablo was using her, she would dump him right away. Get ready to test that theory, girl!

In class, Guido pats Pablo on the back — and Pablo congratulates himself, too, let’s be real — on getting Javier transferred to a different school. Pablo says that Marizza’s going to be sad over Javier leaving, and he’ll have the opportunity to sweep in and comfort her. Guido is annoyed that Pablo is doing this for Marizza. In twenty years, everyone in that class is going to be settled down with kids and jobs, and Guido’s going to be that one guy that keeps hitting them up to go clubbing like they’re in their twenties. Anyway, then Javier storms in and punches Pablo in the face. Pablo goes down hard, probably because Javier is secretly a 30-year-old and has the muscle mass of one.

Tomás, Francisco, and Marizza gather around Sol’s posterboard. Tomás is like, “What could this mean!” and Marizza’s like, “It’s saying that you slept with Sol, dumbass.” Tomás bleats that it isn’t true, and Marizza’s like, “Well, clearly she wants it to LOOK like it’s true. Keep up.” Poor dumb Tomás. Tomás keeps insisting that he didn’t do it, and Francisco’s like, “Okay, so just take the board down.” Heh. I love that they have to walk him through this. They’re about to, but then Marcos runs up and tells them that Javier punched Pablo. They all run off to go see the drama, and they leave the board up. YOU GUYS.

All the kids have gathered around Pablo, who still hasn’t gotten up. Marizza reassures Pablo that he’s going to be fine, and Javier’s all annoyed that she’s paying attention to him. Blas and Papa B run in, and Papa B yells at Blas to call an ambulance. I’m guessing Pablo is unconscious, since they keep talking about him like he’s not there. Guido says that Pablo fell, omitting Javier’s name from it, and Marizza backs him up.
Sabrina shows up at school and tells Manuel that her dad’s assistant just quit, if Manuel needs a job. Manuel’s like, “OMG, I literally just put up a job notice today!” and Sabrina’s like, “OMG, what a coincidence!” and they laugh about how wacky life is. These two deserve each other.

Vico and Rocco are hanging out in the office, waiting for Gloria. Rocco’s written a letter of apology, which he has to submit to have his suspension lifted. While they wait, he asks Vico if she’s heard from her dad, and Vico shrugs that she hasn’t, so she’s not going to worry about it. Rocco flips his lid over her home situation, again, some more. Vico tells him to quit being so pushy, and Rocco asks why she won’t accept his help. Vico tells him that she doesn’t want his pity. Just then, Gloria walks in in tears, and tells them that Dunoff can’t see Rocco right now, because Pablo has had an accident. Everyone freaks out. Man, Javier must have really laid him out.

Speaking of lids being flipped, Papa C is all pissy with Sonia over Martavio. He huffs that the whole school thinks Sonia is dating Martavio — and Sonia’s like, “Yeah, because we told them that to hide our relationship” — Sonia told Mama D that she was in love. Who else could she have been referring to! Sonia’s like, “YOU, YOU IDIOT.” I swear to God, Sonia, do you really want to marry this brain trust?
Papa B goes storming into the office, and yells at Dunoff that he can’t control his students. He doesn’t believe that Pablo fell down by himself, and is convinced that one of the other kids hurt him. He’s not wrong. Dunoff’s like, “Oh, yes, absolutely, we’ll get to the bottom of this.” Papa B’s all, “YOU BETTER,” and storms out. Dunoff calls for Gloria, but she’s not in the office. “I’m so alone,” he wails. HEE!
In class, Guido’s all, “Javier, j’accuse!” He tells everyone that Javier hit Pablo, and Tomás is all ready to go tell Dunoff and defend Pablo’s honor. Marizza says that they shouldn’t tattle if Pablo hasn’t said anything himself, and Tomás is like, “He didn’t say anything because HE WAS UNCONSCIOUS.” Marizza doesn’t want to snitch, and Javier eventually tells her to quit defending him, and he storms out. The rest of the kids muse that they have to get their story straight over how Pablo fell.

Dunoff tasks Martavio with finding out who hit Pablo. Oh, Jesus. This is just going to end with Martavio covering for Javier or something, and then not getting in trouble for hitting a student.
Meanwhile, Marizza finds Javier being emo on the stairs. She asks what’s wrong, and he starts crying at her that she doesn’t even CARE about him, all she cares about is Pablo!!! Marizza is like, “Fool, I only coddle you every five minutes, what more do you want!” She points out that she would’ve defended him if he was the one on the floor, but he wasn’t, so there. Javier cries some more and eventually Marizza caves and sits down to stroke his ego and perform emotional labor for him until he stops guilt-tripping her. Sucks for Javier, though, because Mia interrupts them. She tells them that there’s an update on Pablo’s condition, and Marizza’s up like a shot all, “What happened?! Tell me everything!!!” Javier’s like, “Uh…huh.”
