Opening monologue: We need to be able to ask our friends for help, because our friends are our safe havens in the cold, harsh world of high school.
So Mia caught Manuel looking through her phone, and is now accusing him of thievery. Well, she’s not entirely wrong. Manuel recognized the area code as being from D.F., and he demands to know what Blas is doing in Mexico. Mia says she didn’t know, he just told her he was going to bring her a present. “You can’t be that stupid,” Manuel says. She kind of can, Manuel, as much as I love her. Then he gets all violent and grabs her by the hair, threatening that her present better not be problems for his family. What family, Manuel? You haven’t mentioned them in like eighty episodes.

Romantic and not creepy at all!
Hilda storms off, telling Hilario and a gaggle of students that she doesn’t want them to bother her ever again. “This doesn’t seem proper for a professor of your standing,” Mansilla tries to smooth. “I don’t really care for what you think is proper or improper,” Hilda snarks. Hee! Marizza waltzes in and hands out party invitations to everyone, even the teachers. Hilda’s like, “I don’t think I want to go to a fifteen-year-old’s birthday party,” and Mansilla’s like, “No, no, all the teachers should go! Especially you and Hilario! Using this party to hook up has my dean stamp of approval!” Hilda snarks back that Mansilla’s not the dean anymore. All the kids are like, “Nooo, our enabler!” When Vico, Tomás, and Guido come back to school, Marizza’s all ready to lecture them, but they blow her off.

In the cafeteria, Mia overhears Luna telling Sandra that she has to go San Luis. Nico wants to know why, and Sandra says that since he’s her boyfriend, Luna owes Nico an explanation. Mia looks all perturbed, and for a second I thought she was going to make the connection between Luna telling Nico why she’s leaving and Blas not telling Mia why he’s leaving. I expected too much from this show, as usual. Mia’s all like, “Omg, Luna, you’re not coming to my party?” Sure, that’s the real issue here, Mia. Luna is all sad and runs off.

Nico gets a call on the randomly-placed cafeteria phone, and he’s all, “No puede ser!” Drink! He runs off and finds Pablo researching witchcraft (hee), and tells him that Mauricio canceled the goodbye event on Saturday. If they’re going to do something, it has to be tomorrow. Pablo insists tomorrow won’t work, since they’re all on lockdown now and they need to time to plan an escape. Tomás is like, “This is the curse, you guys!”
Vico squeals to Mia about their meeting with Debora, and how she didn’t realize witches could be so young and pretty and wear crop tops. Mia’s not listening, because she’s too busy being emo over Luna not coming to her party. “It’s going to be the worst party of my life,” she whines. “I’m losing one of my best friends forever.” Yeah, and Luna’s being forced by her abusive mom to move halfway across the country. Perspective, you know? Oh, but then — after cutting to another scene — Mia cries to the whole thing out to Vico, and reveals to us that Feli sent the letter to Luna. She doesn’t have to go to San Luis at all! It would’ve been helpful if they had like…ever showed us what that letter actually was. Mia’s like, “How could she do this to Luna?” and Vico’s like, “How could she do this to you? Now you’re going to have one less person at your party!” Oh my God, Vico. Anyway, Vico wants to do something about Feli’s shitty behavior, but Mia doesn’t want to lose her best friend, and she asks Vico not to say anything yet. Then Manuel comes in and says the band has an emergency meeting, but Mia says she’s too emo to go. Manuel leaves, and Vico’s like, “Whatever, I’m sure nothing happened.” “Something did happen,” Mia says dramatically. “I know who can help us with Feli.”
Vico: “…Manuel? We’re talking about Manuel, right?” HEE! Occasionally, this show can be intentionally funny.
Papa C and Sonia go out for coffee together, for some reason. They hate each other, but they spend all their time together. That makes sense. He needles her about Chiche being a douche, and Sonia’s like, “Uh, a douche who’s planning your wedding, so maybe shush.” Papa C’s like, “Wow, you must really be losing it. I got married sixteen years ago, then we broke up and she ran off with some guy in a band, then the car crashed and she died, and then I hid the truth from my daughter for fourteen years, remember?” Sonia starts laughing at him and says she’s talking about his upcoming wedding. Papa C’s like, “Say what?”
Marizza and Debora hang out in the sad trailer, cackling over the success of her plan. I wouldn’t be so proud about pulling one over on Guido and Tomás. It’s not like it’s hard. Marizza’s upset that she hasn’t managed to sucker Pablo, though. Just then, the boys walk in — why did Pablo feel the need to bring them to the band meeting? — and Pablo’s like, “Aha, so this is Debora.” She starts needling him about all his negative energy and is like, “Cover your eyes so he doesn’t burn you!” Everyone does it, even Guido and Tomás. Man, some people ain’t loyal. Debora starts faking a seizure, and then Lujan comes in. Nobody sees her, and Marizza motions to her to throw Pablo’s guitar across the room. The guitar breaks and everyone’s like, “It’s the curse!” They run away, and Marizza is briefly emo that she probably fucked up the band meeting now. Well, maybe think before breaking other people’s stuff, you know? It’s been 122 episodes, and Marizza still pisses me off sometimes. She’s so frickin’ immature and hypocritical. You know if anyone had broken her dumbass glasses or whatever, she’d be swearing revenge and siccing her mom on them.

Papa C returns to Casa Colucci, and rebuffs all of Mercedes’s attempts to be cute with him. He snaps at her that he knows she was planning their wedding with Chiche. Mercedes BSes that she was just asking out of curiosity, and Papa C says that he’s not ready to married again. Mercedes starts groveling and sucking up to him, and is all pissed that Chiche let it slip. “It wasn’t Chiche,” Papa C says. “It was Sonia Rey.” Mercedes does not like that, at all.

Luna pretends to be asleep, while Lujan and Marizza wax on about how everything’s coming up Marizza. She has her revenge, her party, and Simon is all ignoring his adult responsibilities to follow her around her high school. Marizza sighs that Simon turned out to be really nice — and to think she couldn’t stand him at first! I think Feli would disagree. Oh, except Lujan’s not going to Marizza’s party, because she doesn’t have a gown for the ball. She sighs that she did see a drawing of the one that Mia’s probably going to wear. “It looks like the princess of England,” Lujan sighs all wistfully. A) Since when did Lujan want to look like a princess? and B):

Like this, Lujan?
Marizza tells Lujan that it’s her party, too, and if Lujan wants to show up in her best beating-people-up outfit, she can wear whatever the hell she wants.
The next day, Manuel assures Nico that they’ll figure something out with the band. Nico’s like, “I’m also worried about my girlfriend moving across the country, but sure, let’s talk about the band.” Manuel notices Mia creeping by his locker door, and asks what she wants. For some reason, Mia can’t spit it out, and she ends up running away. Jesus Christ, Mia.

Over in the cafeteria, Pilar’s like, “Feli, your plan is terrible, everyone’s gonna figure it out.” Feli insists that Mia won’t betray her by revealing her hand in this, so they’re in the clear. They overhear Luna asking Sandra if she got her tickets to go to San Luis, and Sandra tells her that her trip won’t be till after the quince, so Luna can still attend. Feli and Pilar are not happy about this, but perk up when Luna says that she has to leave today. “Bye!” they chirp at her as she exits the cafeteria. Heh. They’re so mean. At the same time, everyone is consistently assholes to them, so I kind of enjoy them getting revenge? I wish they would’ve tried to kick Marizza out, though.
In a strange reversal, Mia stalks Manuel through the school until she catches him. “Are you following me?” Manuel asks, all offended. Uh, stones, glass houses, etc. She tells him she has to talk to him, and he asks about what. “Eh…” Mia starts. “‘E’ is a letter, and then comes ‘F’,” Manuel snarks. Heh. She finally gets it out that she needs help with Feli, and Manuel immediately assumes that Mia did something to her. He won’t help her, since it’s her own fault she fucks up her friendships. Wow, it’s gonna be real embarrassing for him when they figure out the truth.
I think, by the way, this is why I like Mia so much more than Marizza. Mia isn’t always pleasant, but she has a good heart, and there are a lot of scenes where she painstakingly tries to do the right thing and powers on even when people (like Manuel) throw it back in her face. Marizza, on the other hand, acts like an asshole 80% of the time and everyone thinks it’s cute.
Speaking of Marizza being an asshole, we next see her snapping at Sonia for trying to help with her party. She hangs up on her, and Simon rocks up. He tells her that he’s come up with a plan for the band: they’ll do a grassroots campaign in the newspapers and on the street to book the band for the Gran Rex. This is, by the way, where the big Erreway concert that the show kept plugging took place. It’s rather meta. Anyway, he’s all like, “If you can dream it, you can do it!” Marizza’s so pleased that she gives him a quick peck on the lips. Simon is all twitterpated. They’re both dicks, so I guess they deserve each other.

Tomás and Guido roll up and tell Marizza they want to talk. She yells at them for forging Mansilla’s signature and getting him removed from the dean post. They run off in a hurry to make things right. I bet they’ll just make things worse. It is Tomás and Guido, after all. They ask Gloria where he is, and she tells him he’s no longer at the school, since he lost his teaching license. Wait, what? That seems extreme. Maybe he misplaced it? Just kidding. She kicks them out of the office, but Renata overheard and also wants to know what’s going on. She tells Gloria that Mansilla didn’t lose his license, he chose to leave the school. It sounds like Renata already knows what’s going on? Why did she ask? It turns out that the shocking letter she read was about him leaving to work in a school somewhere around Chaco. Gloria’s like, “So Mansilla ran away and nobody knows where he is? That’s hilarious!” I love how Gloria’s just letting her inappropriate personality hang out everywhere these days. Renata demands to know his address, and Gloria’s like, “Oooh, somebody liiiikes him.” Hee!

In the cafeteria, Nico’s trying to convince Sandra to stop Luna’s madness, but Sandra says they have to respect Luna’s decision. Really? ‘Cause Sandra loves to meddle and fuck with Luna’s life when it’s convenient for her. She tells Nico that Luna received a letter from her mom, and that’s why she’s all crazy to go to San Luis. Nico’s like, “I knew it!” Sandra’s like, “Have a Gogurt, it’ll make you feel better.” Heh. Nico goes to rant to Manuel about how Luna’s mom is taking her away, which Vico overhears. She can’t resist meddling, and whispers to them that it was really Feli’s fault. Manuel’s like, “Oops.” He says he’ll go talk to Mia — Nico wants go to, but Manuel’s like, “Nah, we might start angrily making out, and that would be awkward for you.” Just kidding, he doesn’t actually say that, but it’s implied.
Tomás and Guido run to find Pablo and tell him they have to fix the situation with Mansilla. Pablo’s like, “No, I’m trying to do my homework.” My God, someone on this show is actually paying attention to their education? Naturally, this cannot stand. Gloria comes in and tells them that Renata’s gone off on an emergency, so her class is canceled. Pablo’s like, “But I actually did my homework!” Heh. Rough life, Pablo. Tomás and Guido are convinced that this is part of the curse. Although weirdly, now Pablo’s like, “What do I do with all this?” What, the substitute teacher isn’t going to collect the homework? Just kidding, I know not to expect that much from this school.
Mia sits sadly alone as Avril Lavigne plays in the background. Aw, Avril. We haven’t heard from her in a couple of episodes. As usual, Manuel’s like, “She’s so hot when she cries.” He apologizes to her for not believing her, and asks to hear the story about Feli. Mia cries it all out, and Manuel is sympathetic. He tells her that she can’t let Luna leave because of a lie, and she has to find Feli and make her explain everything. Why doesn’t Mia just explain? Like Feli is ever going to willingly face Luna. Mia’s scared to confront Feli, but Manuel says he’ll go with her. Aw. Mia’s all happy and tries to do her finger-gun thing with him. AW.

Renata goes to Mansilla’s apartment building, and the janitor tells her that he’s not here. She asks if he knows where Mansilla’s gone, which he doesn’t, but he could tell her about some places Mansilla usually hangs out. That is, if Renata weren’t so pretty that she might get herself into trouble. Ick. Renata snaps that she’s Mansilla’s girlfriend (nice one), and the guy gives her directions to a candy store, it sounds like. The janitors on this show are so gossipy.

Guido, Tomás, and Pablo go to see Marizza. They grovel to her and tell her that they’re going to fix everything with Santiago, so could she please give them the spell to lift the curse? Pablo still thinks it’s stupid, so Marizza won’t give them the paper. Tomás and Guido start freaking out on him until he gives in.
Manuel and Mia go to confront Feli. There’s a brief bit where they try to stand in front of her, she turns around, they go around to her other side, and she turns back. There are two of them, why don’t they cover both sides? Anyway, Mia’s like, “Dude, Feli, you’re pretty fucked up,” and Feli’s like, “How very dare! What do you know about everything bad that happens to me?” Mia tries to calm her down, and Manuel says, “Mia is right.” I don’t think Manuel is helping. They say they want to just talk it out with her, and Feli’s like, “Okay, let’s start with Mia’s massive secret crush on you, Manuel.” Hee! She came out swinging with that one. They make Mia leave, and Feli cries to Manuel that everyone is against her — always watching to see what she eats and how often, and Luna is the worst of them all. I mean, she’s not wrong. I dunno, Luna was clearly trying to help, especially since Feli’s actual friends weren’t doing that much about it, but she and Feli also aren’t that close, and I can see how Feli didn’t want a rando up in her business like that. Anyway, Feli’s like, “Don’t you see how everyone talks about me? How I look? How they always call me fat and ugly?” “That’s what you see, not other people,” Manuel says. Really? ‘Cause I can clearly remember Marizza calling Feli a whale and a trashcan on multiple occasions. Oh, wait, I forgot that it’s okay when Marizza does it. Anyway, inspirational music plays as Manuel tells Feli that lots of people love her. Feli’s like, “And Mia loves you, btw. Just saying.”

Marizza and Lujan cackle over the success of her revenge. Then Mia comes up and they cut her off, but she steamrolls on and tells them that they have to stop Luna from leaving. And now they feel like dicks, don’t they? Just kidding, Marizza never feels like a dick, even when she should. They storm off to browbeat her into staying, as they do with all things. It occurs to me, though, that Mia really should go talk to Luna herself. Anyway, showing her usual regard for other people’s possessions, Marizza grabs Luna’s suitcase and throws it out of the window, and is like, “Aha, now you can’t go anywhere!” She is just the worst. Luckily for Luna, Feli and Manuel come in, and Feli confesses to lying to Luna to make her leave. Marizza flips out on her and calls her a hippo. What were you saying about nobody calling Feli fat, Manuel? They all have a heart-to-heart and Feli apologizes, although Marizza’s like, “What’s wrong with you? You’re sick and an idiot!” So helpful!

I was kind of warming to Marizza in the past few episodes, but that goodwill is gone, son.
Luna forgives Feli, and Marizza grudgingly stops being mad. She gives Feli an invitation to the party, and kind-of-sort-of apologizes for calling her a hippo. “It just came out,” she says. That’s not a good excuse. I still hate her. I’ll nurse this grudge for another 190 episodes if I have to!
Renata comes back and says she couldn’t find Mansilla at the shop. Luckily for her, he picks that exact moment to walk out of his building. The janitor’s like, “Oh, your girlfriend is here!” and Mansilla takes the opportunity to start throwing his arms around Renata and cooing about how happy they are together. Heh.

Mercedes comes storming in to Sonia’s dressing room, demanding to know where she is. Pepa is idly brushing one of Sonia’s wigs, and flippantly snarks that Sonia’s at the spa, but if Mercedes wants to take an autographed photo, she can go ahead. Mercedes loses it and grabs the wig and a lighter, and threatens to burn the wig if Pepa doesn’t give up Sonia’s location. Heh. Mercedes is totally crazy, but at this point, Sonia and Marizza are so annoying that I’m kind of living for anything bad happening to them. Torch the whole dressing room and dance on the ashes, Mercedes!

SUFFER, PEPA, YOU INCOMPETENT FOOL.
Marcos finds Lujan emoing in the hall, and she tells him that Gloria told her someone was here to see her on her tutor’s behalf. Lujan is having a panic attack because she thinks her tutor will be mad at her for hanging up on him. The fact that she acts like a douche under Marizza’s influence aside, it’s really sad how Lujan lives in perpetual fear of the adults who are supposed to care about her.

Mia is hiding out in the cupboard under the stairs, and Vico finds her. She says she has someone who wants to talk to Mia, and Mia freaks out that it’s Manuel. It’s not. Feli crawls into the cupboard, and they cry all over each other about how they’re best friends and they love each other. Aw, I’m gonna cry. They make up and get back to work on Mia’s party.
We cut to a gratuitous fanservicey scene of Sonia getting a massage. Mercedes sneaks up and silently takes over the massage. She starts choking Sonia and yells at her to leave Mercedes and her new family alone. I’m not saying I expect good security from a spa, but you’d think the masseuse wouldn’t just wander off in the middle of a job like that. Eventually security comes and drags Mercedes off after like half a minute. There was no point to this scene, I guess they thought we hadn’t seen Catherine Fulop’s cleavage for too long.

Lujan sends Marcos to meet with her tutor’s middleman. They exchange barbs about how Lujan’s not going to come meet the middleman, but he’s not going to give any information to Marcos. Marcos is like, “Fine, whatever,” and the middleman warns that Lujan’s tutor won’t like this at all. Whatever. What’s he going to do, yell at her over the phone? Send her angry emails?
In the cafeteria, everyone’s having hearty chuckles — Tomás, Guido, and Pablo over breaking their curse; Nico and Luna over her not leaving Buenos Aires. Marizza comes in looking for Simon. Pablo’s all like, “Pfft, Simon,” but then Simon comes in and announces that he’s made the dates for Erreway’s show. Pablo flips out that he and Marizza went behind their backs to promote the show, and Marizza’s like, “I forgot to tell you, Pablo doesn’t want his dad to know.” She and Simon snicker. He doesn’t want his dad to know because his dad is abusive, Marizza. Sweet Jesus, she’s awful.

“Oooh, what if his dad comes to school and tries to hit him in front of everyone again? That would be hilarious!”
Manuel lies in wait for Mia and catches her in the hallway. He says there’s one thing Feli didn’t quite clear up: what did she mean when she said that Mia’s not over their relationship and still has feelings for him? I…think she meant that Mia’s not over your relationship and still has feelings for you, Manuel. It’s not a hard concept.
