Opening monologue: I love you, I hate you, this is a telenovela and we’ll end up together anyway.
Appropriately, we open with Mansilla laying one on Renata right after they got into yet another fight. Renata, God love her, remarks that he didn’t manage to change her mind with his tongue, and she still hates him and thinks he meddles too much. I mean, she’s not wrong. He snarks that she’ll go to Etchamendi about this, and Renata says that she’s not going to bother to tell him. HMMM.
Meanwhile, Papa C is yelling at Manuel for not telling him that Mia was in the band. “I’m no snitch,” Manuel says. HA! He’s only like, the top stalker on Papa C’s payroll. Case in point, Papa C’s like, “I don’t pay you to NOT tell me what’s she’s up to.” Manuel starts going off on him about how he can’t manipulate people’s lives, and how he hates people who lie and manipulate, and he RENOUNCES PAPA C FOREVER! Papa C’s like, “That escalated quickly.”

Pablo, Tomás, and Nico sit around comforting Guido, who’s crying about how he betrayed his parents. I mean, it is pretty sad, and it’s nice that Guido is finally feeling his conscience, but…personally, I’d tell him that I had better things to do. Anyway, they’re all very nice and tell them that his family will forgive him if he apologizes. Guido’s thinking it over, but then Blas comes in and calls him to the office, for like the fifth time in the past two episodes. Dunoff tells Guido that they’re going to expel him. Again. Guido begs him not to, but this time there’s no convenient protest (man, Marizza is slacking), and he leaves in tears.
Marizza is…lying on the stairs. As you do.

Lujan rolls up and Marizza and Luna immediately start needling her about going to see Marcos. Lujan refuses, and then they’re all distracted by Sonia showing up. Marizza tries to get her attention, but Sonia freezes her out and goes waltzing off with Mia. Mariza bitters that Sonia’s just trying to make her jealous. Lujan and Luna are like, “If you say so.”
In the cafeteria, Sonia gets all righteously angry on Mia’ behalf that Papa C is keeping her from the band. She’s like, “Obviously we must come up with a wacky scheme to get you back in the band!” Blas rocks up and is nice to Mia, and Sonia’s like, “Hold up, I thought that guy was a total dick.” Mia’s like, “Oh no, he treats me differently because we’re having an illegal underage affair.” Sonia, God love her, notes that Mia doesn’t talk about Blas like she’s in love with him, and immediately cottons on that Mia still has a thing for Manuel. Duh. I mean, do you see Blas in the opening credits anywhere? Sonia gives…somewhat good advice, telling Mia that she shouldn’t go out with a guy because he makes her feel “secure”; that’s what her dad is for. There’s a good point in there somewhere about the power imbalance between older men and teenage girls, but it’s sort of buried underneath Sonia not mentioning that Blas is a teacher and Mia is a student. I except so little of Sonia’s parenting skills, and I’m still disappointed.
Guido’s dad comes to sign him out of school, and passive-aggressively tells Guido that since he’s all ashamed of his home and family and all, he can go live by himself instead of coming home. Guido’s like, “Wow, my mom is still not over that, huh.” His dad asks what exactly Guido did to his adorable mother, and Guido, after seeming like he was developing as a character for a couple of episodes, immediately lies that it was nothing.

The boys huddle in chem/physics class and muse over what’s going on with Guido. They’re like, “He was called to the principal’s office and hasn’t come to class! What could be going on!” and then they’re like, “Eh, it’s probably nothing.” I guess defeating the Society used up all their available brain cells. The teacher swings by and asks them if they’re discussing Avogadro’s law. They’re still on Avogadro? That is one slow-moving class. Anyway, over at another table, Marizza ropes Luna into helping Lujan sneak out to see Marcos (like Luna thought she was going to get out of that anyway). Luna goes off to the office, but when she gets there, Gloria is cackling over a new edition of the newspaper. She’s all, “It says Mia’s going out with Blas! Isn’t that hilarious!” It’s good to know that, in her capacity as a school employee, she doesn’t feel the need to do anything about that.

The scene then cuts over to Marcos, who’s on the phone with Marizza, trying to explain to her that one does not just walk out of the hospital after being rushed off in an ambulance. She’s like, “If Luna’s sister can walk because I said so, so can you!” Back at school, the chem/physics teacher busts Marizza talking on her phone. Pablo is snarky about it, so the teacher punishes them both, and says they both have to explain Avogadro’s law. Then Luna gives Lujan a note from her “tutor”, asking to meet her in the cafeteria. Lujan’s like, “F that guy.” Hee. I like how Marizza and Luna totally didn’t take into account the fact that Lujan doesn’t give a shit about her tutor. But then the chem/physics teacher threatens to make Lujan do work, so she runs off anyway.

At Casa Colucci, Papa C’s ranting about Manuel to Luca. Sonia comes in, fights with Papa C, makes out with Luca, etc. Luca tells her that Papa C’s mad at Manuel for not telling him about the band, and Sonia makes out like she’s all upset with Marizza, too, but they forged their parents’ signatures to sign a contract, so what can they do? Luca’s like, “Yeah, remember when you were young, and you were in a band?” Sonia’s like, “WHAT?” and immediately spirals off into a dream sequence of Papa C (with Blas, of all people) singing “She Loves You” and “Hound Dog.” I hate to say it, because The Four Seasons are cooler than this, but Sonia’s version of Papa C is totally a “Sherry” guy.

Of all the dream sequences, I think this one is the trippiest.
Anyway, of course the dream ends with Sonia making out with Papa C, and she snaps back to reality all twitterpated. Papa C still isn’t convinced, and Sonia lays it on thick that if Mia breaks the contract, it’ll follow her all through her life and she won’t be able to get into university or get a job, blah blah blah. Papa C’s like, “Fine, whatever.”
Marcos fakes an asthma attack and escapes the hospital, presumably still pantsless. He meets Lujan in a cafe and tries to get her to admit to kissing him. She denies it, and Marcos is like, “Well…why not? I’m conventionally attractive now, right?” Lujan snaps that she likes another guy. Pfft, like Lujan has ever even talked to another guy for more than half a second without getting mad at them.
Luna runs up to Mia, Feli, and Vico, and shows them the newspaper. Mia freaks out, and Luna and Vico run off to try and find the newspaper before Pilar the mysterious anonymous author can circulate it. They run into the mysterious anonymous author Pilar while they’re looking, and Luna, the dope, spills everything to Pilar. Pilar’s like, “Omg, of course I’ll help you look! What a terrible, horrible, no-good, very-bad-thing to happen to Mia!” Then of course she waltzes into Dunoff’s office to put one on his desk. While she’s in there, Nico and Tomás come in to needle Gloria some more about Guido’s whereabouts. Nico catches her crawling out and he’s like, “The fuck are you doing?” Hee. Also, you know, I can’t really fault Pilar for trying to make Dunoff aware of Blas’s shenanigans.

Meanwhile, Cata lucks out and finds a whole stack of the newspapers, and shows them to Sandra and Manuel. Sandra promises to destroy them, and Manuel’s like, “Mia and Blas! This is brand new information!”
Guido goes to his new apartment and cries over how alone, so very alone, he is.

Marizza bounces up to Pablo and starts chirping about how they’re going to do their project, to Pablo’s displeasure. Then Simon (remember him? I know, me either) rolls up and snaps that he wants to talk to Marizza about keying his car. He starts manhandling her a bit, and Pablo steps in: “Hey, that’s no way to treat a lady. Or her, either.” Heh. Simon’s like, “Fine, then I’ll punch you!” Marizza’s like, “Hey, don’t break his face, he’s the prettiest member of our cast.” She volunteers Pablo to drag race against Simon to defend her honor. Pablo’s making faces like, “NOOO, LET’S NOT,” but Marizza snaps that Pablo will kick Simon’s ass. Aaaand just like that, Pablo’s sucked into Marizza’s shenanigans again. Hee.

Papa C, Sonia, and Mia are all meeting in the not-library, and Marizza waltzes in. Papa C tells us all again that Marizza supposedly faked their parents’ signatures, and now they’re bound to the contract, and Sonia’s all, “Oh well, it’s for the best!” We literally just established all that five minutes ago. This was not necessary. Oh, well, it’s padding out my word count, just like it’s padding out this episode. Papa C’s all pissed at Mia, and he says he’s going to send her to school in Switzerland. What’s up with people always going to boarding schools in Switzerland?
Dunoff finds the newspaper on his desk and he’s all, “Mia’s dating Blas?!” and Gloria’s like, “That is the first time I have heard that all day!” He storms out and what luck, he runs right into Mia and Papa C! Mia insists it’s a lie and Papa C, bless him, immediately wants to go kick Blas’s ass. Do it! I have been waiting for Blas to get punched for so long!
(Spoiler: Nobody punches Blas. WHEN WILL MY DREAMS COME TRUE?)
In the teachers’ lounge, Mansilla finds out that Guido has been expelled and passes the news along to the rest of the guys. “Poor cafe,” Pablo sighs. I love how he never refers to Guido by his actual name anymore. Then Renata comes in and tells them that they’re having a math workshop, and they’re all like, “Ew, education!” Mansilla’s all pleased that they hate her even more now.
Everyone leaves to see Papa C reaming Blas out. Blas denies that he’s dating Mia, and Manuel swoops in and claims that he’s Mia’s boyfriend. Blas is not pleased by this at all, but then Renata comes storming in to yell about Mansilla, and all the teachers have to withdraw. Papa C’s like, “Oh, well if you two are dating, then I’m suddenly not mad about anything at all anymore. Have fun!” That was easy.

Marizza tries to talk Luca into helping her and Pablo against Simon. He’s like, “I’m a responsible adult now, so…no.” Pablo’s like, “I still really don’t want to do this,” and Marizza’s like, “Stop saying words.”
The tertiary girls all gather to celebrate actually having lines in an episode. Nico overhears Random Amanda gossiping about how Mia is dating Blas, and he scurries over to tell Luna that he saw Pilar in Dunoff’s office, ergo, she must have been the one to put the newspaper in there. Luna’s all snippy about him meddling in her personal life, since he’s not her boyfriend anymore, and Nico’s like, “But I broke up with Tatiana!” Luna says she’s dating Tomás now and she and Nico are over.
Lujan tells Marizza she doesn’t want to go out with Marcos, because Marcos still has a thing for Marizza, and it would never work. “Why not?” derps Marizza. “I chase down guys who aren’t into me all the time.” Lujan says she’s never had anyone who liked her for herself, and she won’t go out with Marcos because of that. Fair enough.
Luna, Vico, and Feli all show up to confront Pilar at the same time. She’s like, “Yeah, it was me, what took you brain trusts so long to figure it out?” Luna’s like, “I trusted you!” and Pilar’s like, “Whatever,” and flounces off.

Mercedes and Papa C have a ship war over whether Manuel should be with Luz or Mia. Mercedes is like, “They’re clearly lying to you!” and Papa C’s like, “I will go down with this ship!” He’s probably writing fanfiction on his computer as we speak. Mercedes snaps that they should all go out to dinner, and THEN they’ll see if Mia and Manuel are really dating. Whatever. Like the two of them don’t make out constantly even when they hate each other.
Mia thanks Manuel for saving her, and he asks if she’s really in love with Blas. They stare at each other while sad piano music plays in the background, and then Blas rocks up and ruins it. He tries to shake Manuel’s hand for covering for them, and Manuel just walks off. Hee! Mia runs into Blas’s arms and he creepily tells her that they escaped discovery. He’s looking around really weirdly while he does it, too. RUN, MIA! Sadly, she doesn’t.

Someone rings Guido’s doorbell. No points for guessing that he opens it, the camera doesn’t show us who’s there, and Guido’s all, “VOS?”
Renata goes to call everyone to the classroom for the math thing, and everyone ignores her. “What is this, a revolt?” she asks. “Fine, I know what I’m going to have to do.” Weirdly, it looks like Pilar is playing pool with Nico and Vico?

“We just confronted you about all your lies, but sure, we can hang out.”
Renata calls Etchamendi, and tells him that she wants him to kick out Mansilla. If he doesn’t, she’ll “tell the truth about him.” Dun dun dun! Etchamendi tells Dunoff they’re going to get rid of Mansilla, and Dunoff’s like, “Oooh, excellent!”
Luca gives Sonia the tickets to go to Spain, and they’re all excited. They’re like, “Let’s go now, and ditch Marizza on a different continent!” Man, I know she goes to boarding school, but they gotta take care of her during the summer, right? Pepa calls Marizza and she’s like, “Your mom is leaving for Europe right now,” and Marizza, understandably, is like, “WHAT?” “Complicated” kicks up in the background. Ah, I thought this episode was missing some Avril.
