We pick up where we left off: with Sabrina waltzing into Mia’s room and saying she wants to talk to her. Sabrina says she has good news, re: Erreway, and Mia’s like, “Okay, that’s not fooling anyone.” Sabrina drops her concerned act, and gushes that she would’ve done anything to get Manuel, and she regrets nothing. Classy. Mia calls her out for being a boyfriend stealer, and Sabrina shrugs that Manuel’s an adult and maybe he has needs that Mia couldn’t fulfill, if you get her drift. Mia’s like, “Are you blaming ME for this?” and Sabrina shrugs that she doesn’t know if there’s anyone to blame, but she’s just saying maybe this wouldn’t have happened if Mia let him stick it in. Like, just the tip, even.
Mia gets some fight back and snarls that she doesn’t need Sabrina’s advice. Then Feli comes in and crazies at Sabrina until she leaves, but Mia still doesn’t want to talk to Feli.
Marizza and Lujan are hanging out in her room, and Marizza’s asking Lujan why she didn’t try to stop Laura and Marcos from getting together. Lujan rightly points out that Marcos wasn’t going to give a shit about her feelings anyway, so what was the point? Then Mia comes in and asks Marizza to talk. Lujan grabs Marizza’s arm and is all, “Marizza is my friend!” and then Mia grabs Marizza’s leg and they start playing tug-of-war. Heh.
Marcos runs into Laura and asks if Lujan told her that they’re TOTALLY OVER and ARE NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER, and if so, if that means that Laura will date him now. Laura says she has to think about it, because she still thinks of him as her friend’s boyfriend. Marcos points out that he and Lujan have been broken up for like seventy episodes by now (man, he really turned into a dick as soon as the school year started), but Laura is still unsure. She runs away, as people in this show are wont to do.
Over in Pablo’s room, all the boys are emo: Tomás is suffering under the weight of responsibility for the rugby team, Pablo is salty over Javier, and Guido’s upset because his girlfriend’s dad looks like Nicolas Cage. The only person who’s in a good mood is Rocco. Hee. He laughs at their problems, and they kick him out of the room. Then Pablo gets a call from Sabrina — hilariously, he picks up the phone all, “Who’s Sabrina?” Only the girl who manages your band and has been fucking up everyone’s lives for the past week, Pablo!
In the hallway, Rocco runs into Gloria, who tells him that Vico’s dad is on the phone for him. Rocco is not smooth at all, and stammers that Vico like, can’t come to the phone right now. Because she’s dead. He BSes that she’s on a spiritual retreat, and Vico’s dad is like, “Sounds fake, but okay.” He tells Rocco that Vico needs to call him urgently.
In the cafeteria, Mia sighs that maybe she should just move on: her relationship with Manuel is over, and Sabrina is clearly some crazy caricature of a female character whose only concern is hopping on his dick. Like, why bother? Marizza’s like, “You have to keep fighting!” She suggests that they hook Sabrina’s car to a crane and drop it…somewhere. Heh. Mia emos that it won’t get Manuel back, and he’ll still prefer Sabrina. Marizza’s like, “Don’t say that!” and for a horrible moment I thought she was going to keep pushing the whole ~Manuel loves Mia, he just stuck his dick in another girl on accident~ angle, but Marizza actually says, “Manuel prefers sex, like all men.” HEE! Mia says she doesn’t want to get revenge, and Marizza’s like, “Then I don’t know why you came to me for advice.” Also hee. Then Mia brings up that Sabrina has news about Erreway, but she doesn’t know if she can keep going with the band. Marizza says that if Mia wants to leave the band, they’ll go together. Mia so touched that she hugs Marizza. “Okay, I have an image to maintain,” Marizza says.
That scene was great.
Back in Pablo’s room, he tells Manuel that Sabrina’s dad has gotten them booked for a mini-tour around the country. They won’t even miss any school, since it’s during the Bariloche trip. Manuel’s like, “Okay, but we’re not even in the tournament anymore, so how are we going to get the class on the trip?” Also, neither of them seem concerned that Manuel fucked their way to the top. Manuel says that he doesn’t know if he and Mia can keep being in the band together, and Pablo’s like, “If ABBA can do it, so can we!”
Feli intercepts Marizza and asks her to take care of Mia, since Mia won’t talk to Feli or Vico. Marizza agrees, and sweetly notes that Feli really cares about Mia. Still, she thinks that they should just fight it out, like she and Lujan do. “We’re not like you,” Feli points out, and Marizza says that they’re missing some rough street edges about them. Can Marizza stop pretending that she’s from the streets in any way whatsoever? YOUR MOM IS RICH, MARIZZA. Anyway, then Lujan comes storming up and drags Marizza off — “See, just like this!” Marizza calls to Feli. Heh. Lujan is all salty that Marizza is hanging with the popular girls, and Marizza says she just wants to work on their problems to forget her own. She ropes Lujan into helping her.
Sonia’s out at lunch with Michi, trying to convince her to go on another date with Papa C. Michi is naturally wearing sweatpants and eating, because this show has not aged well in regards to weight. Or sexism. Or…anything, really. Anyway, Michi won’t do it, since Papa C insulted her job. Sonia’s like, “You’re not even a performer,” and Michi’s like, “But I feel like one on the inside!” O…kay. I won’t pretend to know what that means. Anyway, Hilda shows up, and she’s just as weirded out by Michi as everyone else who’s met her so far. Sonia manages to talk Michi into doing on another date with Papa C. Then they go jogging, and naturally Michi can barely run a few feet before collapsing, because she’s fat, get it? -_- Then Sonia randomly starts bawling over Marizza and Martavio, and Michi comforts her, even though she barely knows anyone involved, but whatever.
Pablo calls Ines and asks if Javier really has a valve issue in his head. Ines is like, “Of course not,” and Pablo is all vindicated. Okay, but is anyone going to believe you, Pablo? You gotta do this shit in person, and in public. Have you learned nothing? He gushes to himself that Marizza will TOTALLY believe him when he tells her. Oh, Pablo, you’re so cutely naive. Just then, Marizza rocks up, and Pablo tries to tell her about Erreway’s tour. Before he can do it, though, Carmen walks by and yells at them to get to class.
In class, Mia drifts off into a dream sequence. OMG, it’s been so long since we’ve had one of these! It’s basically just a dramatization of all the breakups so far — Sabrina splits up Mia and Manuel; Laura splits up Marcos and Lujan. Apparently they’re all in this dream sequence together, because Laura is perturbed by the idea that she’s betraying Lujan, and runs off to the bathroom.
Pablo texts Marizza that Javier’s head is perfectly fine. Javier can somehow see what he’s texting from a few rows behind him — phone screens were not that big in 2003! — and he “accidentally” bumps into Pablo. Pablo gets mad, and when Carmen intervenes, Javier’s all like, “It was my fault! I was trying to get Pablo’s attention, but he couldn’t hear me because he was texting!” Pablo, of course, gets in trouble for texting in class and Carmen confiscates his phone. Javier is smug.
Martavio sucks it up and goes to talk to Dunoff. He says that it’s not far that the kids are being punished for something that they didn’t do. “That may be, but you know what? I don’t really feel like doing anything about it,” Dunoff says. Ah, I see he’s not even pretending to do work anymore. Martavio gets all righteous and says that the kids deserve to play rugby for great justice, and Martavio will fight for their rights! Just like Mansilla before him, if Mansilla rocked up to school intending to stalk his daughter and sort of accidentally became a teacher instead. Dunoff threatens to fire Martavio.
Outside, Gloria is eavesdropping and Pablo sneaks up on her. HA! He says he won’t tell Dunoff that Gloria’s a nosy sneak if Gloria gives him back his phone. Gloria won’t help, but she agrees to tell Pablo who Dunoff is talking to. Pablo is all shocked to find out that it’s Martavio. What? You TOLD him to talk to Dunoff. I mean, I guess it’s surprising that Martavio did it instead of foisting it off on someone else, but whatever. Gloria tells him what we just head, that Dunoff is going to fire Martavio if he keeps being a good teacher. Can’t have these kids actually learning anything!
Sonia and Michi are still hanging out. Does anybody even care about this? I certainly don’t. Anyway, since Michi is going around getting insulted and made fun of by all the Coluccis for Sonia, she wants Sonia to owe her a favor. Sonia sweatdrops, because she can dish it out but can’t take it.
Pablo tries to tell Marizza that Javier doesn’t have a damn thing wrong with him, besides being really annoying and not even a particularly good villain. Marizza blows him off, so Pablo decides to be a dumbass and give away his whole game to Javier. He tells him that he knows that Javier doesn’t have a hole in his brain, and soon his whole little jig will be up. Oh my God, Pablo, don’t TELL him that, though. Anyway, Manuel comes to drag Pablo off, which gives Javier time to call his friend (I guess? It’s not like we know the dude’s name or anything) and ask him what his next move should be. Are you telling me that Javier couldn’t even come up with that brain disease bullshit by himself? He really is the worst.
Mia whines to Marizza that she doesn’t want Papa C dating Michi anymore. Marizza calls Michi a “whale”, because I guess the show decided that it wasn’t cool to fat-shame Feli anymore, but all other overweight women are fair game. Marizza tells Mia to forget Michi and focus on fixing her friendship with Feli and Vico.
Feli and Vico emo from afar that Mia doesn’t want to be friends with them anymore. Then Lujan rolls up and says, “What’s up, friends?” HEE! I love that she’s calling Mia her friend. Mia and Lujan remains my favorite underrated friendship of this show. And possibly relationship. I mean, they can both do better than the boys they’ve been dating. Anyway, Lujan and Marizza try to convince her to make up with her friends, but Mia refuses and storms out. Marizza’s like, “Fine, I guess I gotta MAKE them talk,” so she goes over to Vico and Feli and says that Mia is talking hella shit about them, like she’s calling Vico skanky and says that Feli could eat the moon or whatever. Vico and Feli are honestly less mad than you’d think.
Pablo and Marizza drag Mia and Manuel to the art room so that they can discuss Erreway together. Pablo tells the girls that Erreway is going on tour. Mia’s like, “Aw, hell no,” and Marizza backs her up because their friendship is the best. “This is what every band in the world dreams of,” Manuel bleats. “I don’t care about the dreams of other bands, I care about the nightmare that is THIS band,” Mia says. Burn! She doesn’t want to work with Sabrina’s dad anymore, and Marizza says she doesn’t either. Pablo’s like, “What’s YOUR beef?” and Marizza says she’s doing it out of solidarity. AW. Pablo begs Manuel to back him up, and Manuel at least has the grace to know not to argue with his ex-girlfriend who he just cheated on like a week ago. Mia snipes that there’s no way Pablo’s even going to be able to sneak out of school without his dad finding out. Mia is mean as hell now and I love her for it. Manuel’s like, “All worked out, we’ll go during the Bariloche trip!” and Marizza’s like, “Great, except we’re out of the tournament, dumbass.” “Andrade said he can get us back in,” Manuel bleats. “Andrade can’t do anything because he’s an imbecile,” Marizza says. Pablo sighs and admits that Martavio probably can’t get them back into the tournament, since Dunoff is threatening to fire him.
“Great, so it’s all worked out: one, we don’t want to work with Sabrina’s dad anymore, and two, you’re not in the tournament anyway. Let’s go, Mia,” Marizza says, and they flounce out.
That was awesome.
For some reason, Pablo isn’t getting what’s going on, and whines that Marizza is being difficult. Manuel’s like, “No, Mia doesn’t want to go because of our breakup,” and Pablo’s like, “What do you mean?” PABLO, YOU SAW HER SLAP HIM. DID YOU NOT REALIZE THAT SHE’S MAD AT HIM?
Laura tells Marcos that she can’t stop thinking about Lujan, and she’s afraid that Lujan will find out about them. Marcos is all twitterpated that Laura thinks that there’s a “them” to find out about. Oh my God, Marcos, can you focus? Direct some blood away from your dick. He tells Laura that everything will be fine, and they make out. No offense, but Laura is just…the most boring character. I don’t really care who she ends up with at all, and tbh the only interesting thing about Marcos is his relationship with Lujan. Together, Marcos and Laura are boring x2.
Feli and Vico intercept Mia in the hall and tell her that they’re going to talk whether she likes it or not. They accuse Mia of talking shit about them, as heard from Marizza, and Mia’s like, “Okay, you know she just said that to make us talk.” Heh. Vico suggests that they should talk anyway, and Mia snaps at them that if anyone asks, their friendship died years ago. Okay, honestly, she’s being kind of a dick about this. Marizza knew WAY before anyone else, and she didn’t tell Mia, either. Then Vico’s dad rolls up, and he is pissed that Vico never called him back. Nice going, Rocco.
Meanwhile, Javier intercepts Marizza, wanting to know if Pablo’s gotten to her yet. She’s like, “Why do you care so much about what we talked about?” and Javier BSes that, like, because they don’t get along much, he’s afraid that Pablo is filling Marizza’s head with lies about Javier. Marizza reassures him that they’re not friends, they’re just in the band together. Javier’s like, “What band?” Wow, is there someone in all of Argentina who doesn’t know of Erreway? Oh, wait, of course he has: Javier knows of Erreway, he just didn’t know who was in it. Marizza begs him not to tell anyone, because Papa B hates music and Dunoff hates extracurriculars, so they would be in trouble if anyone found out. Javier’s like, “Oh yeah, I sure would hate for that to happen!”
Lujan is off to go look for Blas. She stole his address from Gloria (heh) and is going to his house to talk to him. She can’t reach him any other way — he’s not picking up his phone, and he’s not answering her emails. “Maybe he died!” Marizza chirps. HA! We could only be so lucky. Lujan says that he’s the only one who knows anything about her mysterious tutor, and she needs him to stick around.
In the not-library, Laura does her homework while Marcos stares at her. It’s meant to be adoring, but it’s mostly creepy. She wants to keep their relationship a secret, because she’s still afraid of hurting Lujan. Or, more likely, of Lujan hurting her. Marcos says that he’ll put up with secrecy while they’re in school, but outside, he’ll engage in as much PDA as he likes. Then he kisses her anyway, and Lola interrupts them because she heard Laura was looking for her.
In the art room, Tomás is giving all the kids a rousing speech. Tomás, being inspirational? He’s come so far, you guys. He tells them that they have to fight to win the rugby tournament, so that they can go to Bariloche. Why do all these rich-ass kids care so much about getting a free vacation? Just go yourselves!! Anyway, Pablo comes in and tells them that Martavio’s going to back down in fear of getting fired. Tomás insists that he’ll support them anyway, and Marizza snarks, “He won’t support anyone, much less us.” Then Martavio comes in and tells them that he’s going to back down, and Marizza’s like, “And nobody was surprised.” All the kids thank him for trying, which Marizza does not like at all. And THEN Dunoff storms in and demands to know who sent a letter to the rugby association, letting the kids play and forging Dunoff’s signature. Martavio sweatdrops.
Vico is not in this meeting, because she’s in the hall getting menaced by her dad. He is super pissed that she — or someone — lied to him about where she was. Vico insists that she didn’t ask anyone to lie for her, and her dad snarls at her to come home right away when school is over.
Despite his strong start at the beginning, Dunoff does not keep up his momentum and has lapsed into giving the kids another boring lecture on how HE HAS NEVER SEEN SUCH BEHAVIOR BEFORE and THEY KNOW NOT THE GRAVITY OF WHAT THEY’VE DONE. He tells them that he’s not going to let them go on the Bariloche trip anyway after this — it’s kind of hilarious that no one considered that — and nobody leaves this room until the guilty party confesses. Martavio’s like, “That’s pretty dumb, they still have class.” He promises Dunoff that the guilty party will turn themselves in before the end of the day. Dunoff caves to this surprisingly easily.
Laura tells Lola that she’s worried about her, since Pablo’s being a jerky jerkface and a shitty boyfriend. I mean, that’s nothing new, but whatever. Lola blows off her concern, and then is all, “So tell me what’s going on with you and Marcos.” I’m confused. Is Lola pissed at her or not? Whatever. Laura insists that they’re just friends, then she runs away. Heh. I thought you were all about trying to bond with your sister, Laura! Then Augustina rocks in and takes a drink from Lola’s straw, and Lola’s like, “Gross.”
Martavio confesses to the class that ’twas him who forged Dunoff’s signature. Manuel hugs him, for…some reason. What a weirdo. Even Martavio’s like, “Okay, you don’t need to hug me.” He gives a big ol’ speech about how the kids deserve justice and shit, while Marizza pulls faces behind him. Hee. Martavio says that he’s going to confess to Dunoff and resign, because the kids deserve to enjoy the trip to Bariloche. They really don’t, though. They’re all a bunch of rich kids who can go on their own time, and they didn’t even give a shit about rugby until they heard there was a vacation involved. He says that they’re a bunch of good kids, and he feels like they’re his own children. Marizza is perturbed by all this emotion. Martavio walks off to resign, and Manuel sighs that they should be able to do something. “We can’t do anything,” Marizza snaps.
She chases off after Martavio, and snaps that if he was trying to impress her, she was NOT IMPRESSED. Martavio insists that he’s doing it for great justice, and gets all passive-aggressive about how Marizza can take this to the judge if she wants to accuse Martavio of shit. She snipes at him to go confess to Dunoff, and he snaps that he might be out of the school, but she can’t get rid of him from her life. Ew. Be creepier, Martavio.
The kids discuss how they might get Martavio out of this. WHY? HE IS THE WORST. Manuel suggests that they take the blame for writing the letter, and Pilar’s like, “Then all of us will get expelled. Including me, and then I’ll be homeless.” Sol pipes up that they should relax, because everything will be fine and they’re gonna go to Bariloche. For some reason, all the kids turn and gape at her, and she’s like, “What did I say wrong?” Seriously, what did she say wrong? Aren’t they all convinced that they’re going on the trip anyway?
Lujan goes to Blas’s apartment building, but the doorman tells her that Blas is on a trip. Lujan grabs some keys that are just lying on the desk, and claims that she’s Blas’s sister — if she wasn’t, would she have the keys to his apartment? Why are those keys just lying around? Be better at your job, security guy.
And somehow, those keys just happen to open up Blas’s apartment, because of course they do. God forbid they be like, for that guy’s car or anything. Lujan ransacks the place and finds a laptop. The security guy is suspicious of her as she leaves, but she manages to BS her way out of there without incident.
Carmen rants to Dunoff that she is never ever giving Pablo’s cell phone back ever. Well, damn, Carmen, you can’t keep it forever! He has to graduate someday! Anyway, she leaves and Martavio enters. He’s about to confess, but then Pilar comes in and takes the blame. Martavio tries to say it was him, but Dunoff kicks him out of the office. Pilar tells Dunoff that she’s tired of being in the middle of him and Mama D’s divorce, and forging the letter was like, a cry for help. She accuses him of not caring about her, and Dunoff rushes to forgive her. Heh. Well played, Pilar. That said, it always cracks me up that one of the main messages of this show is “Be yourself! Don’t conform to what other people want from you!”, but the kids only stop bullying Pilar when she takes the fall for them in their madcap schemes.
Pablo tries to convince Mia and Marizza to go on tour, again, some more. He nearly lures Mia in by telling her that the tour will give her a distraction from Manuel and Sabrina, but Marizza cuts in and says Mia needs time to decide. Pablo begs her to think about it. He gets up, and Marizza very sweetly tells Mia that whatever Mia decides, Marizza will support her. AWWW. I mean, it’s annoying that it took Manuel being an asshole to finally get Marizza to stop being a dick all the time, but I’m glad it happened. Mia says that they can use the money from the tour to donate to the sad orphan home, and Marizza’s all pleased that Mia is thinking of others.
Then Manuel and Sabrina roll up, and Sabrina says that her dad wants to meet with Erreway so that they can sign a contract and go on tour tomorrow. Sure, why not? What’s rehearsing or renting a bus or booking venues? Or like…selling tickets? LOL JK, you know wherever Erreway shows up, half the population of Argentina will mysteriously follow despite Erreway never even putting out a CD before. The boys are all ready to go right away, so it’s up to Mia to decide. They all stare at her while she squirms. Damn, don’t put the emotionally fragile girl on the spot like that! Eventually, she caves and agrees to go. This is peer pressure, man. Manuel and Pablo are all pumped and try to hug the girl nearest to them. Mia and Marizza are like, “Ew”, so Pablo has to hug Mia and Manuel has to hug Marizza. Heh.
Pilar tells Tomás and Martavio about how she got Dunoff to cave. Tomás is all proud of her and they make out. Martavio’s like, “Okay…this is uncomfortable, but okay.” Then Erreway rolls up, and they’re thrilled to hear that Elite Way is back in the rugby tournament. Marizza is salty, though, because everyone’s giving Martavio credit for never giving up on them or some shit.
Augustina whines to Guido that she won’t see him when he goes on the Bariloche trip. WHY IS EVERYONE ACTING LIKE THEY’RE DEFINITELY GOING ON THE TRIP? Don’t they have to like, win? I am confusion. Whatever. Augustina whines at him that she wants to be with him 24/7, and Guido has an incredibly weird vision of her dad being the one asking him to hang out. He’s like, “The horror!” but he caves anyway and agrees to skip the trip to be with her. Heh. Suffer, Guido.
The kids go to class, and Guido tells Tomás that Augustina asked him not to go on the trip. Tomás is like, “That’s dumb. You’re going, right?” and Guido mumbles that of course he is, he would never cave to his girlfriend because he has no will of his own.
Javier, Marizza, Mia, and Lujan are all hanging out together. Pablo comes in and he’s like, “Great, my audience is all here!” Oh, Pablo, noooo. Javier turns it around on him and says that he’s so glad he found out Pablo was in the band. He knows Papa B would blow a fuse if he found out, but Javier for sure will keep it a secret, because that’s what brothers do, right? Pablo asks who told him, and Marizza chirps that she did. Defeated, Pablo has to back down.
Is it too much to ask that Javier dies along with Blas? It’s what he deserves for being so boring.
Anyway, then Dunoff comes in and says that the rugby commission has come to a decision about Elite Way and the Bariloche trip. DON’T THEY HAVE TO WIN TO GO ON THE TRIP? Nothing makes sense anymore. I don’t know who I am.
